Conversations at the Table
Nov. 25th, 2004 02:47 pmIt should be noted that I'm the only real otaku in my family. My brother's borderline, but he's more into games than anime/manga, and he wouldn't go near a fandom. Still, when we all had to tell a story at the table after our Thanksgiving dinner/lunch thing, all I could come up with was fandom related.
I ended up recounting the Ed-baiting I did at Anime Iowa. Since none of my family follows the fandoms I do, they can't always follow what I'm saying. Tomas has gotten enough of my chatter that he recognizes some of it, at least, and I hadn't specified which character whose cosplayers I was tormenting, so he hazarded a guess that I was tormenting Conan. I explained I wasn't, but it brought to my mind a quote that's been chasing me for a while now.
Ed: WHO'S SO SHORT HE COULD BE MISTAKEN FOR AN APOTOXIN VICTIM?!
Yeah. If someone else would be willing to write the appropriate crossover/amalgam/fusion/whatever so the idea would no longer torment me, I would quite happily retaliate with that Saiyuki/Furuba plunny that's been after me (thanks ever so, Maggie).
In other news, I turn legal on the thirtieth of this month ^^v. In honor of the occasion, I would like to spend entirely too much time reading smut, so if I could get lemon recs from those of you reading this, I would be much obliged. (Bonus points for Yuri, and I will seriously draw or write something for you if you find me a good CCS Meiling/Tomoyo lemon. Seriously.)
