Don't give me that look! It's a valid topic!
So. We're reading Dante's Inferno for World lit, right? And Mr. Hartwig gives us this 'Right Brain' assignment (only he called it left brain because he _has_ no left brain for such things). Basically, we get two weeks to do something really cool and artsy, only it has to be Dante's Inferno themed. And he goes off on a tangent about how, every year, there's this kid, or these few kids, who do something incredibly cool and stuff and everyone talks about it. And I sit there thinking, I wanna do that.
What I want to do is make a 3D map of the levels of hell. Seriously. See, I'd do one layer at a time, and there'd be rings, see, and it would all be connected together in this great big funnel shape. And I think I can pull it off in two weeks.
But the really good ideas? I just started talking about them with Mom today. If I had, say, six months instead of two weeks to work, I would love to do Dante's Apartment Complex of Eternity *grin*. See, the basement levels would be Hell, and the lobby would be Purgatory, and the upper floors would be Heaven. This is a bit of a problem as we won't be reading the Purgatorio or the Paradisio for class, nor have we yet finished reading the Inferno (so I don't know how Dante and Virgil get to Mount Purgatory or what have you).
And then Mom suggested that I could do Hell as a sleazy Hotel (with 'Hotel' in light-up neon, only 'ot' would be burnt out so it would say 'H--el' :) which would be really incredably cool. But again:
1)Have not finished book;
2)Don't have time.
Anyway, probably going to go with the 3D map idea. If I can find a way to use some of those chopsticks from way back when, that'd be better still. Maybe I can get around to those other ideas eventually.
