And then sh1t happened
Jan. 28th, 2006 04:13 pmYeah, so. I was going to post a whole bunch of stuff, and then things happened.
The first thing that happened was the much anticipated Bleach Weekend at CFUD. I spent about 12 hours drawing pictures for players of characters in Shinigami or Quincy gear. (Also, Quincy Archer Ash breaks my brain.) It was fun, but exhausting, and I eventually turned things over to the other gracious volunteers who liked the idea and also wanted to contribute. Pictures can be found here, here, and here. These are also officially my first posts that got over fifty comments each. (Spam sessions with Jeva don't count.) I am loved and I am a happy, happy thing.I so deserve a "Get into CFUD free" card for this. Srsly. The other volunteers have been doing a great job in my absence ^_^
The second thing that happened is that Mom got me a new computer.
Me: Oh my God. Oh. My God. Just... OMG. *boggles* *goes into slight shock* *goes back to surfing on 'old' computer*
Mom: =_= Why aren't you making happy sounds about the new computer?
Me: Uh...
Mom: Go, set it up!
Me: *tries to think of a way to articulate worries* *fails* *shrugs and figures it'll work out* Okay, but give me a little time to copy stuff off of this computer and to finish surfing.
About noon, Tomas and I finally got around to setting the computer up. It works like a charm. It has DVD drive for both + and - DVDs, can work with USB ports, has 160 gigs of storage, the works. (Also, Chris, it came installed with Windows XP. What's that thing I need to have for security reasons?) The one problem? The second we disconnected it from the old computer, our cable modem went haywire =_= This makes me a sad thing. A very sad thing. So sad a thing that Mom decided to bring me downtown to the library so I could check my mail and stuff there. I luv her ♥ Anyway, no internet for a while. Will try and do stuff on Monday but make no promises. Internet guy is not supposed to come until Tuesday, more's the pity, but Monday's so full I couldn't stand to have him(?) come over then. Will be relying on secondhand computer connections until then.
Me: I miss my old computer T^T
So, yes. I will probably be scarce until Tuesday, woe. Jeva, here's hoping for your app to go through! People, do stuff with Magical Girl Icka while I'm gone! Draw stuff or write fics or something! (I have been meaning to close that poll for a while now, but I have no idea how.) See you soon, and I love you all ♥♥♥
Edit of glorious editness: O_O We have the internet back! Thank you to my little brother, who pointed out that he had actually plugged the wrong wire into the wrong socket and told me how to fix things ♥ I can have internet before Tuesday now ^____^ Next on Socchan's agenda: re-instal scanner software and instal camera software. Hot damn!
