Small Furry Creatures
Sep. 24th, 2006 05:16 pmSo, after mentioning yesterday to my mother that
a) I have no confidence in my ability to take care of pets, and
b) I would've taken care of the lizard (our pet iguana Hamilton) from the beginning if she hadn't taken it over, then pointed out that it was probably too late for me to make a habit of it now
she has decided I need a pet.
...I am very much not complaining at all :DD
So far I'm considering mice, rats, and rabbits (and also names for all of the above, since I seem to think about both at once), since apparently they're relatively easy to take care of. I'm tempted by ferrets, but they seem expensive ^^a And probably high-matinence. Upswing would be that there's at least one person on my f'list who I could ask for tips from. Mom also mentioned, though, that I could probably keep a cat, if I kept it downstairs and out of the laundry room.
Socchan: ...OMGWTFBBQ.
I really like kitties :< But I'm probably going to lean away from that one. After all, I can't hypothetically sneak cats veggies under the table. Well, I could, but they wouldn't eat them. Also thought about fish (goldfish or guppies, though the guy at Petland said that tetras make less waste?), but we have the backyard pond for that. Maybe over the winter. I mean, the two survived last year, but there's no guarantee this year. And I'm still worried about the plants. Also, while you can watch fish like a screensaver for probably hours, it's kinda hard to pet 'em ^^a
Anyway, will be looking into care of small fuzzy animals in the near future. Wish me luck!
