Weather Woes
Feb. 27th, 2007 03:16 pmOh yeah, I was gonna talk about that storm we had over the weekend!
So. There was lotsa ice and lotsa snow and lotsa rain. And some of it all at the same time. And the roads were all slippery and snowy and slushy and awful, and the sidewalk was hell to shovel, but I did it anyway. Quire was canceled on Sunday, which meant I got to spend more time with my friends, yay! And the power went out at our house a couple times on Saturday, but didn't stay out for more than thirty minutes or so. And also at Hy-Vee while Dad and I were there, but they had a back-up generator, so that's good. And basically the whole weekend's weather, starting late Friday afternoon, was completely miserable. (It also knocked out Kirkwood's power at the main campus, which is why they canceled school yesterday; they still hadn't gotten it back up. There's more places in Iowa that aren't expecting power for another two weeks or so >_O)
Anyway, all's well that ends well, excpet for how we're supposed to get yet more snow on Wednesday. So. As long as it's gone by April, I'll be happy. Er, more or less.
Also, the entire thing just kinda makes me wonder, is it something about Lent? Because yeah, between this and the tornado that hit last year on Holy Thursday, I'm beginning to be an eensy bit weirded out. Though not as much unless it happens again next year, knock on wood.
Aaaand Lurker Day's on Friday. Need to make something up for that for the stay-lurkers, since the meme won't cater to their needs. Maybe a lemon of some sort... *ponders this*
