Avatar and Cephalopods
Aug. 2nd, 2007 02:59 pm* Lower left tooth socket hurts DD: Perhaps it is infected? I hope not.
* Okay, big news. I am getting my psychologist to watch Avatar with her son. ANOTHER POTENTIAL ADDICT (or two!), IN THE FORM OF SOMEONE I GO TO SEE TO HAVE MY HEAD EXAMINED. Clearly this can only be a good thing.
** I will also be dropping of zucchini at their door next Wednesday. LAZOYNFPNight FTW!
* I totally had a dream a couple of weeks ago in which I finally found female Avatar action figures. The only one I saw was Katara, who came packaged with Sokka. They were all-one-piece slightly-bendy-plastic. They were also less than an inch tall. Anyone else remember those Mighty Max playset things from way back when? Yeah. About that size. (Scenery included.) Clearly, my subconscious brain is telling me to get back on that @$^#$%# protest letter already.
* I need to look up information on cephalopod mating. Why does FireFox think that cephalopod is spelled wrong? I have reasons, shut up.
** Cephalopods are gonochoric. A female typically possesses a single oviduct. A male produces spermatophores that it transfers to the female's genital pore by means of a specialized arm or tentacle. HAH! Score one for me! I was almost kinda halfway right on Kukomi anatomy! ...Though the following lines are a bit more foreboding... Pinched off? Remains in the female's mantle cavity?! No wonder tentacle monsters are so keen on humans...
*** Edit: Hot damn, we have a winner! Kukomi mating (as currently conceptualized) can work! Also, WTF, hectocotylus. They so won't have to break off. Edit 2: And bingo, Chambered Nautilus. No hectocotylus breakage (that I can see mentioned)! Plus, multiple arms :Db This could definitely work.
* Have started on Katara's underwear. Have not gotten very far. Need to change thread in sewing machine.
