Redefining success
Jul. 20th, 2009 11:02 amYesterday, I spent the afternoon running all over, looking for a way to get my DS to hook up to WiFi so I could get the Platinum Secret Key event that I missed last time, and had no idea was doing a second run (congruent with the Europe and Australia run) until, once again, the day before it ended. Alas, despite wandering all over and actually passing a few connection tests, I did not manage to hook up. In my desperation, I turned to Actual Human Interaction, and visited a couple of gaming stores.
Sadly, neither store was able to help (though the clerk I interacted with at the first store went well above and beyond the call of duty, and I am totally thinking good thoughts her way).
And then it turned out that, not only was the second store having a sale on second-hand previous generation gaming consoles, but they had a copy of the re-released Digital Devil Saga available as well.
Previous Roommate had moved out and taken her PS2 with her, and I wasn't about to take the one my younger brother was using (technically both of ours, but he really owns more games for it), but there were games I wanted to play. Like DDS, for example, which I'd been looking for for a while, and didn't know when or if I'd see it again, re-release or not.
As my father says in relation to his garage sale purchases: I'm not made of stone!
PS2 and Brand New Game came to a total of about $90 USD /)_(\ Of the two items, the PS2 was the one I spent less on.
In the end, for all I'm now 0/2 for the Secret Key event, I think I'll be able to distract myself from my "loss" fairly well.
