soc_puppet: Words "Mad Fangirl" in blue (Mad Fangirl)
Tomorrow (er, today) I will be headed off to Icon, to speak in monotone and stare slack-jawed at my surroundings. How is this different from normal, you ask? Well, I plan to wear this and hand out pamphlets ;)

Or, well. Show people pamphlets, at least. I only managed to print out ten before my printer started running low on ink. I might be able to print out the web addresses alone on a few pieces of paper, if nothing else.

The one I printed was in black-and-white, and has a few mistakes I corrected on the uploaded version. The uploaded version is in color, and the panels are in, uh. Folding order? Well, print out the first page, flip it, print out the second on the back, fold it up, and it should all be facing the right way/stacked in the right order :P

Don't have particularly huge plans for most of the rest of my day at the con - aside from getting maybe a couple books and/or a rubber chicken signed by [livejournal.com profile] jimhines and some fangirling of same, of course.

I'll be back later in the evening, hopefully with stories to tell. And then on Sunday, I'll be going to see if I can make it as an undead extra in a zombie movie :Db Here's hoping!

(October? Please be nice to me this weekend? ♥?)
soc_puppet: Words "Endless Love" in red (Endless Love)
Back from Icon! It was not the most fun I've ever had at a con ever ever ever, but it was enjoyable, and I'd say worth the price of admission. I might've had a better time if I felt more comfortable as a SFF geek, but wev.

Met Jim Hines! He is cool, as expected :) He read the Muppet werewolf story for a panel, and it is absolutely delightful (in a somewhat childhood-destroying way). Wish I would've gotten it on film :/ Maybe someday. Instead, I scribbled characters as he read. The scribbles were well received :Db

I also got my rubber chicken signed ♥ I imagine it will make for a quite unique story to tell in the future! Did not get books signed, as I felt a little awkward about asking after the chicken/time had passed, but I doubt this will be my only opportunity. If nothing else, I suppose I shall have to work to make it not my only opportunity. All in all, it was a good meeting or three, I think :)

Learned some new origami at the con, as well! I can now fold a lily, a star box, a frog, and some other stuff I didn't know before. I think I may be able to pull of a whatsit, omega star? I'll have to try and see how I do.

ALSO! It has been confirmed! I will indeed be a zombie extra tomorrow! \o/ The film is currently under the name "Collapse", and apparently has a Facebook page, which I could look at if I wanted to find out more about it. Provided I go to Facebook. We're supposed to be there at 9:00 AM, and to expect to work ten hours, with only food and experience as compensation. But hey, what an experience!

Still need to outline stuff for NaNo. Still need more sleep. Will be working on the latter shortly. Ciao!
