Back from Icon! It was not the most fun I've ever had at a con ever ever ever, but it was enjoyable, and I'd say worth the price of admission. I might've had a better time if I felt more comfortable as a SFF geek, but wev.
Met Jim Hines! He is cool, as expected :) He read the Muppet werewolf story for a panel, and it is absolutely delightful (in a somewhat childhood-destroying way). Wish I would've gotten it on film :/ Maybe someday. Instead, I scribbled characters as he read. The scribbles were well received :Db
I also got my rubber chicken signed ♥ I imagine it will make for a quite unique story to tell in the future! Did not get books signed, as I felt a little awkward about asking after the chicken/time had passed, but I doubt this will be my only opportunity. If nothing else, I suppose I shall have to work to make it not my only opportunity. All in all, it was a good meeting or three, I think :)
Learned some new origami at the con, as well! I can now fold a lily, a star box, a frog, and some other stuff I didn't know before. I think I may be able to pull of a whatsit, omega star? I'll have to try and see how I do.
ALSO! It has been confirmed! I will indeed be a zombie extra tomorrow! \o/ The film is currently under the name "Collapse", and apparently has a Facebook page, which I could look at if I wanted to find out more about it. Provided I go to Facebook. We're supposed to be there at 9:00 AM, and to expect to work ten hours, with only food and experience as compensation. But hey, what an experience!
Still need to outline stuff for NaNo. Still need more sleep. Will be working on the latter shortly. Ciao!

Date: 2009-10-26 06:13 pm (UTC)Also, just so you know, I would have been more than happy to sign books as well as the chicken. My schedule was a little crazy this weekend, so I know I was always running hither and yon, but next time please feel free to ask. It's the least I can do to repay you for the Imaginationville Artwork ;-)
