soc_puppet: Words "Mad Fangirl" in blue (Mad Fangirl)
Writer signups for [community profile] kinked have closed! Accompanying media sign-ups (and beta reader sing-ups) are still wiiiide open, though, so other people should sign up :> It doesn't have to be drawings, even! It can be podfic or a soundtrack or something! Needs moar media persons (and also beta persons, but media more)! I do not want the lovely mods to have to do last-minute running around and begging for pinch-hitters and stuff. I also don't want to sign up myself unless things get desperate; media time overlaps with a bunch of other stuff going on in my life, such as tearing down AnimeIowa, getting ready for the new school year, polishing my own story, et cetera.

(BTW, Mati! I am such a flake for not replying to your e-mail yet /)_(\ But I have read it! And it is full of good points! I just don't know how many I'll be able to address before I actually write my story ^^a I mean, some I definitely can and should, but a lot might wait until after. (I say this because I spent a good week over-thinking most of them, and ended up completely losing all motivation to write the story. In this case, I'm beginning to think it's best to write the story first and fix (most of the) shit after, so it actually gets written at all -_-a))

In other news! Augh, I spent so much money todaaaay ;_; Not that I'm really all that sad about it, just. SO MUCH MONEY. GONE. And the stuff I got, ffff-!

See, I went to Barnes and Noble to spoil myself a little, since my tax refunds came in (to the tune of aprx $1100 USD, and did I mention that I love my job?). There, I purchased the latest three volumes of V B Rose, which is shoujo and cute and fluffy and the line art is so clean *_*, and three volumes of FMA, which brings me up to the most recent English language releases for both those series (minus vol 13 of FMA, because I haven't found it while I have money to burn yet). Which was actually less money than I expected to spend there!

And then I went to Best Buy, and in the (dwindling) anime section? It was like Miyazaki exploded or something. Figuratively. That is, there were releases and re-releases all over the shelves. I ended up buying five of the six titles I didn't yet have a DVD copy of, which includes Kiki's Delivery Service, which I've wanted a DVD copy of for, like, years now, but does not include Ponyo, on the basis that I'm assuming it will show up at Half Price Books some time in the near future and I can just buy it there for slightly less money. Of course, instead of Ponyo, I decided to pick up Escaflone for, like, fifteen dollars more, because nostalgia pwns me something hard. And... it was an expensive trip, y'all.

So basically, I will be doing four things this summer, since I will have more free time then. In no particular order:
1) AnimeIowa stuff
2) Reading manga (and sometimes books and other comics)
3) Watching anime (and other TV)
4) Writing

I'll never have time to read everything I have otherwise, especially with how I keep adding to my stacks/lists, sigh. (She says, as if this is really a terrible hardship.)
