Productivity!
Mar. 31st, 2012 02:21 amTaking a break from doing things because I deserve one and yet still have what will probably be at least two hours of work left to do before I let myself sleep, sadface.
I have been incredibly productive! Especially the last two days, but also in general this week. Expect an amigurumi photo dump in the reasonably near future.
* After thinking about it for a long time, I finally sat my butt down and made a Colbert Report-style mascot bird (see here for local university version). Its color scheme is modeled after the star-spangled eagle in the credits, and it's wearing a pair of hand-fashioned wire glasses and doing the eyebrow thing. I'm a little worried that it looks too much like a figure skater, since I used sparkly blue yarn rather than gluing a buttload of stars onto something ~8"/20cm tall, but I'm not taking it apart to re-do it. I may make a second one with non-sparkly yarn and gluing down rhinestones, just to see if I like it better, but it's not entirely likely.
* I finally got some stuff up at my Etsy account! Only two things, and no one has actually bought anything yet, but someone did see my stuff and decided to commission me to make something for them! So that is way cool. I've been hashing the details out with them and hope to have their thing finished in the next week or two.
* Dad also wrangled some space at a table for me at a local craft fair taking place tomorrow. Which means I spent most of yesterday and also today whipping up some stuff to sell there. I've got two Asian-style dragons, four pillow/floppy cats (no pics yet), and twenty flowers I actually still need to hot glue to hair clips (no pics yet). Aside from the flower clip gluing, I still need to make up mini-flyers and/or cards to go on the table, so people can find their way to my Etsy account or otherwise contact me to give me their money, but I'm reasonably pleased with the stuff I've got.
I've also been listening to a lot of podfic over the past two days while I worked on stuff, which has done wonders for actually tearing me away from the computer screen. Thank you, Fanfic Flamingo! (Note to self: sign up on those podfic blanket permission form things.) I do rather wish the Audiofic Archive included things like summaries and warnings and such, but beggars can't be choosers, and it is a rather massive archive to dig through.
Anyway, back to work, and then to sleep. Because sleep is good. Yes.
