Jul. 5th, 2013 06:19 pm"Hostile Takeover", the second mpreg abortion fic I'm considering writing, has officially outlined itself in my head. I've got the method for pregnancy figured out and everything. Now I just need to look up some common pregnancy nightmares to build off of and I should be good to go.
Also, the third fic has a potential title: "And [Together] They Lived Happily Ever After". Not sure whether I'm actually going to include "together" in the title, which is why it's in brackets. I've got a great source to look through for details there, though potential plot's slightly eluding me. Probably for the best, since I was planning to make this one the third fic rather than the second.
A comment on Bad Timing also has me seriously conflicted about possibly plotting a fourth fic on the theme (thus making it a very Hitchhiker trilogy). The evil part of me seriously wants to take the "horrible angst-filled miscommunication/misunderstanding" mpreg plot and have the pregnant dude get an abortion instead of giving birth, especially because that's one of the more popular mpreg plots. At the same time, I'm not really sure I actually want to go there. I'd have to really tease out the best way to ensure the happily-ever-after ending that vein of stories typically requires, while at the same time not shaming the formerly-pregnant dude for getting an abortion or otherwise suggest that it was a bad choice. In those sorts of stories, Pregnant Dude is usually torn up about Impregnating Dude's feelings and how PD is certain IPD doesn't have romantic, forever-type feelings for him, or would possibly think that PD is trying to coerce him via pregnancy. Being wrong about that doesn't mean that getting an abortion would be the wrong decision for PD at the time. (Nor would giving birth, but we already have plenty of stories that go that way.) Maybe if I had the Big Feelings Reveal right before the abortion appointment, and they discussed things and PD decided to go through with it anyway... Hmm.
In any case, none of this is happening (nor is anything else - I'm looking at you, Cinderkat!) unless I sit down and get writing. ...Possibly after AnimeIowa, because I still have a buttload of things to crochet before then. Broke person wants to be less broke, kthx.
