These are the headcanons I'll be going with for when I want to write happy, feel-good fic where there can be happy endings all around and no sadness. Like for All the Names I Know You By, when all I want is self-indulgent feel-good fic that I don't have to think too hard about. Because the other headcanons are all valid and scarily plausible, but sometimes I just want to pretend that Adrien had two parents who loved him and treated him like it for at least the early years of his life, instead of one or zero.
Option One: The least angsty: Gabriel and Emilie, as the owner and head designer of a world famous fashion company and one of his top models and a famous actress besides, were frequent travelers, and took Adrien with them as often as they could. This necessitated private tutoring, because the amount of travel they were going on wouldn't have allowed for more traditional schooling. This changed once Emilie "disappeared" and Gabriel stopped traveling, thus removing the primary reason for Adrien not to attend public school.
They also spent a lot of time with Audrey Bourgeois, and thus also with André and Chloé; probably also a lot of their business contacts stayed at Le Grand Paris.
Option Two: The more angsty: At some point in the past, there was an attempt of kidnapping or violence on a member of the Agreste family, be it Gabriel, Emilie, or Adrien himself. Homeschooling was decided as the best option to keep Adrien safe, and the Gorilla was hired on as a bodyguard for Adrien. (Gabriel and Emilie were less worried about themselves, due to having Miraculouses, but may have spun it to the press as it being because Adrien was so young, or Adrien may have specifically been targeted.)
Le Grand Paris was one of the only places Adrien was allowed to go due to its high levels of security, which is how he ended up befriending (being befriended by) Chloé. He eventually started chafing at the bit and wanting to widen his own social circle, especially with Gabriel ramping up the overprotective instincts and retreating emotionally (and becoming a supervillain) after Emilie disappeared.
Things eventually fall apart in both of these scenarios, leading to the canon outcome, but in an AU where Emilie never disappeared this could also allow for a happier family life. (Adrien would still end up pushing to attend public school in the latter, but I'm not sure about the former. Chloé would almost certainly angle to get Emilie on her side in her attempts to get Adrien in her class, which would make convincing Gabriel easier to boot.)
