Mar. 7th, 2021 02:53 amPhew! I've made it most of the way through Littlewood now; I just have to collect a few more items to finish up the main plotline. (Do farming games usually have a plot...? Like, outside of general "fix the town/farm/whatever, maybe get married, live happily ever after"?)
It's a very ace-friendly game, though less aro-friendly. There's romance, but even *with* being able to marry your sweetheart, it only ever gets to kisses, cuddles, and apparently tickle-fights. ...Which could very well be a metaphor for smexy tiemz, but could just as easily be read as an actual tickle-fight. It's less aro-friendly, since the player character has the option to flirt with (most) NPC townsfolk after interacting with them enough, and even if you manage to avoid flirting with anyone (possible, I'm pretty sure, but annoying to manage), a few of the townsfolk do imply that they have crushes on other townsfolk. If you're into shipping, it's pretty great, but once you get married, basically all the townsfolk kinda pair up with one another. There's f/f, f/m, and m/m representation in the side ships, and the player character is not limited to one gender in terms of who they can romance, but provided you manage to recruit all of the townsfolk before you get married, I'm reasonably sure the only character who doesn't end up in a pending date-relationship in the marriage credits is a widower, so if you're the kind of person who gets a little weirded out when absolutely everyone ends up with a romantic happily-ever-after, there's that to consider. (I technically ended up with two "extra" townsfolk who weren't matched up in my own wedding credits scene, but that's because one of them is more time-consuming to recruit to town than the other, and if I'd managed it earlier, I'm reasonably sure they'd have had their own date scene.)
Long story short: Pretty cute, pretty fun, worth a try if you like farming games, IMO.
Anyway, with how far along I am, and how many of the tools-that-make-life-easier I have, I've gotten a fair amount of my attention span back. It'll probably still be another day or two before I'm ready to get back to AnimeTwineowa in earnest, though.
