Jun. 3rd, 2022 06:19 pmCurrently getting news of a second convention pulling at least part of the ACen shit: The higher-ups decided to make the con masks-optional and go public with the news without consulting the rest of the staff. The major difference here so far is that there's still a good chunk of time before the convention in question, so people should be able to alter their travel and hotel plans more easily.
I am also hereby advising all people who wish to attend or staff a convention to check said convention's Covid policies weekly, because this happening twice is... distressing, to say the least.
Edit: Apparently it was already announced on social media, even though it's still not on the con's official front page as of 22:00 today and the staff haven't gotten an official email about it yet, so I don't feel bad letting everyone know:

Yes, the con I've been staffing since 2007. No, I'm not pleased about this.
