Music meme thing

Partially to celebrate the new computer and internet actually working (♥♥♥), partially to celebrate my brother's new iPod whose software allows me to rip stuff from CDs (in WMA, I'm afraid, but it's better than nothing), and partially because I just feel like it, a seven songs meme ganked from
i_found_jesu.
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your livejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
Wish You Were Here, by Ann Zimmerman (WMA, 3.28 MB or so)
This is the ultimate Fruits Basket anime song for me. I would love to be able to make an AMV out of this. Alas, I have not the resources. So I'll just have to inflict it on you instead. Tohru's feelings, about missing her mom and all the amazing new people she's meeting and how the two of them can never really share that any more. Plus, the line "Holding on tight". Because it invokes images of Sohmas going 'poof!' in me. (I have been wanting to inflict this song on people for so long it is not even funny. Go listen.)
Absolute Zero, also by Ann Zimmerman (WMA, 2.8 MB)
A song about science. And about people who are absolutely cold to those around them, especially those who love them. Helped me get through chemestry ;)
Flood by Jars of Clay (MP3, 3.3 MB)
It's mostly the music that gets to me with this. And the chorus.
But if I can't swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by the crashing waves
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me oh-ooh
Lift me up! When I'm falling
Lift me up! I'm weak and I'm drowning
Lift me up! I need you to hold me
Lift me up! Keep me from drowning again
The Promise by When in Rome (MP3, 4.29 MB)
Originally got this on the CFUD FST ChiChi soundtrack, though it could really apply to a lot of anime characters. A song about patience and the need to get things right. It was the baseline that first caught my ear, but the lyrics have won me over.
Skullcrusher Mountain by Johnathon Coulton (MP3, 5.01 MB)
A song about a mad scientist in love. What else can I say? The monkey-pony monster thing just about killed me.
Bad Moon Rising by Rasputina (WMA, 3.32 MB) and Creedence Clearwater Revival (WMA, 2.17 MB) (STFU, this so counts as one song.)
Ahahaha, this still kills me. See, I had been listening to the Rasputina version for the longest time. And then Mom hears it and tells me it was actually one of my uncle's favorite songs. And I said, "Oh, he knows who Rasputina is/are?" And Mom replies, "Not exactly..." See, Creedence Clearwater Revival wrote the original. And the overall tone is much different from the Rasputina version. So different that, when Mom dug up a copy of the CD for me to listen to it, I burst out laughing. Listen and compare if you don't believe me.
Terrible Thought by Poe (MP3, 4.39 MB)
Originally for the Riddle/Ed CFUD FST. ...Yeah. If you don't already know, you probably don't want to know. Anyway, mused the other day that it could probably work pretty well for crack!plunnies as well. Re-listened to the lyrics again, and it pretty much does, though I've been listening to it so long with the interpretation of terrible thought = person that switching now is problematic ^^; Anyway, help yourself to the potential crack!plunny anthem.
Bonus: Life is Like a Boat by Rei Fu (MP3, 9.41 MB)
Because I just think everyone needs a copy of this song. Full version of the first Bleach Ending. Very well done English lyrics that meld well with the Japanese. Don't know where the translation link is at the moment, but you can probably find it if you google it.
Now, tagging, tagging... Let's see, who on my f'list has music...
lightningceder, I'm breaking you in here. YouSendIt is your friend.
mistressoffoxes,
nekokenchan, and
jeva_chan, I'm tagging you, too. (No music links necessary.) Three more people... I dunno. People I don't hear from a lot, I guess this could be your cue? *shrugs* Anyone who's up to it, consider yourself tagged.
And now, homework, Ilie swear.
Edit: Alert: Urahara's app is up. I will probably be ignoring it from this point forward. Do let me know if you got in, but tell me not the details.

Date: 2006-02-01 12:16 am (UTC)when I finally break down and race for it this evening....Bah. I should just make a friends-locked post detailing my problems. If that doesn't make me fix them, I don't know what will.
I can definitely believe that; I've done the same thing. And I'd be happy to ^_^ I'll pop an e-mail with it to you right away.
