soc_puppetDid a stupid thing last night, and stayed up until three reading Conrad's Fate. It's the next Chrestomanci book, and I only found out about it on Friday because I made a Chrestomanci reference in CFUD. Ended up splurging on it yesterday before going to watch anime and be crazy with friends. Anyway, managed to get about two thirds of the way through before I decided that maybe it would be a good idea to get some sleep. What's worse is I didn't even stay up to try and finish The Zahir, Paulo Coelho's latest, which is due back at the library on Tuesday.
More snow today, though it's mostly mixed with rain. Most of it happened overnight. My Spanish teacher must be freaking out.
Speaking of Spanish, I have an oral presentation to give on Tuesday (needs to be around five minutes long, maybe ten; we need to say what we can in Spanish and we can do the rest in English, but no language mixing within sentences and so forth), and I have no idea what to do it on D: I'll put up the options later, and maybe that'll give me a bit of a start, but I'm running low on time here, and Mondays are nothing like kind to me. I'm tempted to do something with the Road to Santiago...
Also currently have the near-insatiable urge to write Donuts fic, but no plunnies. I was getting them left and right while churning out the last scene of that Lurker Day fic, but now I don't remember any of them. WTF, world. Lyzz, when you get back, I fully expect you to throw plunnies at me for me to write. Okay? Okay.

1) Describe una ciudad
Imagine that you are a journalist reporting on the influence of Hispanic cultures on cities in the United States and Canada. You have been asked to present a report to a Spanish class, focusing on one American or Canadian city.
2) Representa a una universidad
Imagine that you are enrolled in a university in Spain as part of a "Year Abroad" program. You're about to return home, and the Spanish university has asked you to be its goodwil ambassador. In this role, you will disseminate information about the university in Spain to your classmates.
3) Describe a tu familia
Imagine that you have just returned from a summer exchange program in Ecuador. Your Spanish instructor has asked you to give a short presentation about the Ecuadorian family you stayed with.
* We can also report on our own family if one or more of its members comes from a Spanish/Hispanic background.
4) Presenta un reportaje
Imagine that you are a sports announcer for a large radio station in Mexico City. Your boss has asked you to deliver a new weekly broadcast, a guide to weekend sporting events.
* This one is not reccomended.
5) Crea un sitio Web
Imagine that a travel agency has hired you to develop a web page to promote a travel package to Puerto Rico. The web page is intended to market the tour and inform potential travelers about the specifics.
* A PowerPoint presentation can be used instead of a web site.
I'm pretty sure that we can generalize Spanish speaking countries for this, and not necessarily go with the one specified here. I would love to do the last one for the Road to Santiago (what with my whole Paulo Coelho fangirlism and all) but I think that the first one is probably my best option, since my mom grew up in Richardson, Texas. (We still have family in that area, too.)
