soc_puppetAh ^_____^ Today was a good day!
Had a test in Bio that I think I did pretty well on. Also managed to get a few more panels of MGI drawn ^__^ I hope to finish it soon so I can move on to something new. I mean, I like MGI and all, but I can't exactly market it ^^a And, well, ideas and all that... Anyway, it is fun, so I'm not going to quit! (Though I keep thinking of it, for some reason, as Prince Icka +_+ Ack! I think it's because of working on Prince Ichi last year, and the two names kinda melted together in my head as "Big Projects I'm Working On." Need to stop thinking of it as that!)
Went to donate blood this evening with Chris. Pat heard something about a blood drive at Anime Detour, so she's going to try and give then instead of coming with us tonight. Actually managed to give this time, so Mom took us out to the book store afterwards ^__^ I splurged and bought both Clamp no Kiseki volume five and Whisper of the Heart. Being able to donate blood today made me really happy. I didn't know how much I missed being able to do it. I like being able to help people like this, however indirectly it may be.
Anyway, CLAMP no Kiseki! I haven't actually gotten around to reading the booklet yet, but I love the figures this time! White Mokona, Nokoru (with fan :D ) and Suu. I think Suu's my favorite ^_^ She looks really cute with a slightly surprised look on her face and her wings unfurled. She has one of those mechanical birds pirched on her fingers.
Took out the rest of the chess pieces to look at them all and count what I've gotten so far so I could tell Dad if I even had enough for one side yet ^^a The answer is 'no' so far. There's eight of the characters from the back but only seven pawns. Even if I used another set for the opposite side I couldn't do it. Besides that there's the issue of how many of each piece. There are two rooks but there's also two white queens, one knight, and three bishops. I mean, I could just treat the 'extras' as the missing pieces, but that's too complicated. I wouldn't remember anyway ^^a
When setting all the pieces out I thought it was really weird. I could set two different characters next to each other and it would be like a mini-crossover. I kept wondering how I could make it work!
Also thought about how CLAMP decided to market their characters as chess pieces. It's such a bad metaphor, and yet I can't help but think it. I mean, really. After a while it seems to lack subtlety.
One more post tonight, and then I'm gonna remove my bandage, do my homework, and go to bed ^_^ (Waah! Late donation times are so troublesome =_= ) I'm tempted to stay up later, but I've got an early class tomorrow :O ('s why I haven't been on MSN too much lately. Need that sleep, and I lack willpower when I'm around you guys ;) )
...Also, the style of my writing in this entry seems really weird right now. I think it's been influenced by all the scanlations I've been reading in the last few days ^^a In volume twenty of Hana-Kimi now, though! ^_^ Anyway, post.
