Boy, I love having donated blood and feeling like I'm not getting enough O2 to the brain because of it ¦D Seriously, I seem to have lost a good portion of my typing skills (I can tell because I'm abusing the delete key more), I'm extra tired, and I'm acting silly. Like all day long. *made bad jokes* I can hardly wait for next time!

Anyway, couple of ideas for short manga for when... Well, for sometime, at least. Possibly after MGI, possibly during. We'll see.

Yo! Kaitou! Because the 'kai' in Youkai is the same as the 'kai' in Kaitou X3 It amused me so. Anyway, I now need to compose an sixteen to eighteen page comic about a phantom thief with youkai-themed powers. Or maybe just a youkai-themed costume. Something.

Yo Tengo Dolores Heard from my Spanish teacher today that it's important to put the accent in dólores because otherwise it means 'pain'. So yo tengo dolores means 'I have pain all over.' She went on to add, "Unless you're a guy, in which case it could mean something entirely different." As in 'I have Dolores (the person) all over me.' Thought it was hilarious. Need to make that into another short comic, though I can't decide whether to make the main character (male, I'm thinking) related to Dolores or dating Dolores. Either way she will bring him much love and much pain. *shrugs* I guess I'll figure it out eventually. (Having the same problem with one of the characters for the big manga I'll be doing after MGI: can't decide if another character is her ex-boyfriend or her brother. Ah, the pain of making choices >_<)

...I'll talk about my big post-MGI OrigiManga idea someday. Just not today.

Edit: ZOMG, there's RSoM for the UK and Ireland now! O_O *spazzes out* Want. Need! *...may have a slight Western!manga addiction, but admits nothing*

RSoM = Rising Stars of Manga. It's this contest that TokyoPop set up for budding Western manga artists to get on their feet or something. Basically, contestants send in 14 to 20 page short manga stories, the judges choose their favorites (and online readers also choose one), and the winning stories get collected into a volume and published. Winners get money, the chance for their work to be seen by lots of people and publishing companies alike, and the possibility that TokyoPop will allow them to start and publish a longer work. It's held biannually in the US, but I don't know about overseas since the one they're putting out now is the first. I hope to join one day, probably with one or both of the above stories. And then get my a$$ handed to me, but I'll hopefully have more ideas lined up by the time I finish these.

I participated in a french version of one organised by french version manga editor Tonkam and got my a$$ handed to me (http://membres.lycos.fr/dagashi/visions.html) with a friend during Highschool!
They don't do it anymore because they got too many poor participations and didn't have enough money or something like that that I don't know much of...

Am definately going to have a look at this RSoM in the UK thing though :cO

This is the site that I check. It says that the first UK/Ireland RSoM contest is over, but there should be details for the second one in May. The comic requirements at least shouldn't be too much different from the ones over here. In any case, TokyoPop has a lot of money, so I don't think they'll run out as fast ^^;
