In which socchan talks entirely too much
Apr. 20th, 2006 09:25 pmJust realized I hadn't made a RL post in a while. So I thought I'd (mostly) do that tonight ^_^
Hung out with Pat and Chris last night. We went to the Sycamore mall and did some shopping. ...I splurged on books, as they were having "Buy two get the third half off on all paperbacks!" at WaldenBooks. I bought Furuba 13, Naruto 9, and Kingdom Hearts 3, making me out $22.00 :/ I am weak to cheap manga. So very weak to it. We then went through Von Mauer (sp?) so Pat could pick out some white cotton gloves for her Ed costume. We looked for a good black tank-top there, but couldn't find one. After that we stopped at the Hobby Corner and Chris picked out some Magic cards while Pat and I idled around. Then we went to Ben Franklin's (one of only four in the US) to look at fabric, in case they had some for either Chris or Pat to make into a costume. Pat needs some for her outerwear, and Chris has decided to try cosplaying Chouji. (This of course makes me think: I should force Pat to dress as Ino and then I can be Shika as we have the right hair for it :DD 'cept mine's too long, but I can cut it!)) We didn't find the right cloth, as everything they had there was patterned in some way, shape or form -_- Pat did find a tiger that she didn't think other!Chris had yet, though, so she bought that.
While we were in the store, Chris made a comment that Pat's Bitch!Ed costume needed a collar to go with it :3 I said I still had that one left over from when she played Neko!Kenshin, and Chris said he'd pictured it more with spikes. I thought I'd seen one in Claire's a few times, so I suggested we try there. Chris said it was something we'd be more likely to find at Hot Topic, and I rather agreed, but bullied them into it anyway. We did indeed find collars there, though they were too small.
Then came dinner at Panera's. Pat and I both chose soup in sourdough bread bowls (I got chicken noodle, though I don't know/remember what she got--maybe the same?) and Chris got 'forest mushroom' soup with a side of bread. It was a good night for soup, I guess. We chatted a bit more, then decided to head out to WalMart to pick out some tank-tops for Pat.
We found the shirts in question relatively easily after we found the Men's section ^^; Nothing in the women's section looked right :/ I pointed out a few spots-of-interest related to my tornado stay, such as the vents that went 'foom' and the still missing cieling tiles. We then tromped around the store, looking at things. Pat chose to pick out some half-of Easter basket stuff to give to a friend who had been complaining about not getting an Easter basket this year, what with being away from home and all. (She had mixed feelings, in that she also thought it was a bit immature to still want one.) Then we stopped in the electronics section and browsed. We scrounged through the discount DVD bin, which had more than a few Nickelodeon discs, and I commented that I half-hoped Avatar was in there. Chris then told me that he'd seen Avatar while we were looking through the regularly priced DVDs earlier. I boggled, then proceded to track the first two discs down and purchase them. ...They were only eleven-something each, which, anime fan that I am, I am very not used to. We talked about going to see V for Vendetta for a while, but Pat said she had stuff to do by ten, and it was already almost eight, and Chris and I both had to get up early (though he earlier than I), so we decided against it. Chris dropped us both off, and I scurried downstairs to my beloved computer once again. And that is the story of how I spent entirely too much money on Wednesday ♥ Aren't you glad I told you?
Oh, Pat also said that a week ago was the first time that Iowa City had been hit by a tornado. Which is true for my lifetime at least (though that huge wind from '98 or something was called a sideways tornado and almost counts), though I have no way to check its accuracy. Last Thursday also disproves two tornado myths: that tornados don't strike large cities (we're the sixth largest city in the state) and that tornados don't cross rivers (which this/these one/s did). So! We do get tornados, but it happens very rarely to this city specifically.
Anyway, http://imreallysad.com/ Just check it out, you don't have to be sad. There are some awesome pictures in there :3
And now, the one non-RL thing in this post ^_^ Because I've been seeing it all over and thought it looked cool.
1) Make a list of 15 characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. (That way you're not leading the questions asked to fit the characters.)
2) Ask your flist to post questions in the comments.
For example:
"4, 6, 12 & 15 are starting a band together, what is their name and what kind of music do they play? Also, who's the lead singer, and what instruments do the others play?"
3) After your flist has asked enough questions, round them up and answer them using the 15 characters you selected beforehand, and then post them.
Now ask me questions! :D

Date: 2006-04-21 02:35 am (UTC)2 and 3 are rivals for 8's affection. What would they do to woo him/her? Which one would win?
9 drags/is dragged by (your choice) 15 to a bar. Crazy drunk antics ensue. Which carries which home? What happens when they get there?
If 7 and 10 were on a sports team together, what sport would it be and who would be better at it?
