Dinner conversations
Apr. 25th, 2006 10:00 pmSocchan: *semi-randomly* So Tomas, Advent Children comes out tomorrow :DD
Tomas: I thought it was today?
Socchan: ...Oh yeah. Oops. Anyway, Advent Children :DDD
Dad: The movie theaters don't usually change their schedules until Thursday/Friday, so even if it is out today you might not see it.
Socchan: Ah, Advent Children is on DVD ^^a *pauses for a moment to think about the glory of Advent Children on a full-sized movie screen* *eyes glaze over* *drools a bit*
Mom: You know, we do know someone who runs a movie theater. He might be able to get a copy of it and show it if he thought it would be worthwhile.
Socchan: O_O ...How many people would it take for such a thing to be worthwhile? Because I know that a ton of people in this city alone would probably love to see it on the big screen.
Mom: You can always send him an e-mail and ask him about it.
Socchan: I may do that.
But first, I thought it would be prudent to ask here. This is mostly directed to my in-town friends, but also maybe to in-state friends. And anyone from out-of-state suicidal enough to travel into this state just for the following situation. Supposing, hypothetically (for the moment), I actually managed to talk Mom's friend into showing Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children on a movie screen: would you be interested in going to watch it? Do you think anyone else would be? If so, how do we make sure these people know about it and will go? (I'm currently thinking notices in college anime clubs, fliers on billboards and the like.) I hear tell it may be a fairly decent dub, voice-acting wise (and if it happens, it probably will be shown dubbed as opposed to subbed). So, er, thoughts?
Changing the subject! For some reason, I seem to be associating this song with Demyx (of KH2) for some reason. Late at night at the very least. (Do I need to cut for a name? I hope not. Er, if you think I do though, tell me and I will.)
My connection seems to be more tempermental than usual today =_= It'll probably go back to normal soon, but for now it's annoying. *would be looking to chat with friends otherwise*
Anyway, I should probably go do stuff. Like look up information on the human heart. And start translating my part of that script into Spanish. And stuff like that. ...Anyone know a good website for the former?

Date: 2006-04-26 03:45 am (UTC)Yaaay! ^__^
Oh God. I just had the best thought ever. AC on IMAX. (I think it happened in Japan.) :O~~~~~

Date: 2006-04-26 03:53 am (UTC)My brother fainted when that thought occured to him :O I'm... slightly less enthused, since IMAX theaters tend to make me dizzy ^^a 'S probably because I sat too close to the front the last two times, but association happens :/ Doesn't mean it wouldn't be damn cool, tho.

Date: 2006-04-26 04:04 am (UTC)Oh? What a shame. :/ IMAXes are love to me. I think, actually, that thought (AC on IMAX) occurred to me when we went to see Goblet of Fire on one. I pretty much sat in silence for 5 minutes thinking about it.

Date: 2006-04-26 04:37 pm (UTC)I'd still probably go see it if it was on IMAX, and freak out like the fangirl I am, but it seems like a less realistic hope for me than for the regular movie screen. If it ever did happen though, I would find a nice seat near the projector (which is supposed to help) and settle in for a happy viewing. And possibly eat/drink ginger stuff beforehand.

I'd have to bring a towel for the drool. Or better yet, a mop and bucket. Because guh.
Try here to start out?

Date: 2006-04-27 06:52 pm (UTC)I'm personally a little doubtful that there would be theater film for a foreign movie that's being released (as far as I know) directly to DVD, subbed or dubbed, but I figure it's worth a shot.

Woe and also alas D: Were the off-site links any good? And if you're going that far, you may as well try reading Hunchback. ...Though if you're willing to go to books, I'd suggest the second Mrs. Pollifax novel (the name of which I can't quite recall at the moment ^^a). Anyway, that's just to say that all I know about Gypsies I've read in just-for-fun books :O Though apparently poeple think/thought they steal/stole frequently, which is where some of the prejudice comes from?

Date: 2006-04-27 09:53 pm (UTC)I just did the Sora, Roxas, and Axel Are Coming to Camp Dance for my brother. It pretty much consisted of me jumping around in a circle shouting, "SORAROXASAXELSORAROXASAXEL", etc., and then it kinda degenerated into "Sora rocks his ass-el." So I stopped. :D
