Ow ow ow ow and also ow
Jun. 7th, 2006 03:57 pmThe following entry is mostly cynical whining. Feel free to skip. Or to stop and rain pity on me, whichever.
So, roughly twenty-four and a half hours ago, I fell halfway down the stairs on my tailbone ¦D It now hurts to stand up, sit down, and basically do anything that involves my lower back/upper thigh muscles actually doing work. While the pain has dulled from the first hour or so, it hasn't done much (that I noticed) since. Well, other than give me a lower threshold for how much food I can eat without becoming nauseous, which may be a good thing. This is not at all pleasant, and at this point, getting menstral cramps instead would be trading up. Mostly because I'd know exactly what's going on and more or less when it would end, whereas now I'm just hoping I bruised something, and something not terribly important at that.
In other news, the fruit was okay! My God, this is worse than the Tomato Drop incident.
But enough whining about my butt! You probably didn't want to hear about it anyway. Time to whine about this weekend, which you also probably don't want to hear about! We'll be having all sorts of relatives coming into town because one of my cousins is getting married. On Thursday, three of said relatives will be moving into our house, which means cleaning, cleaning, cleaning for me and Tomas. On the plus side, it will include my incredibly cute (grade-school aged-ish) cousin Marty, who everyone adores ♥ ...Which reminds me, I should probably check the exact times and stuff, so I can make sure I actually can go cloth-and-yarn shopping with Chris (and possibly other people?) at noon on Thursday. On Friday, the family will probably be going out to dinner, probably at Pagliai's (and I have no idea whether I actually spelled that right or not), and then Mom and I will have to go to a Quire rehersal. It's supposed to only last an hour, thankfully. On Saturday is the wedding in question, and then, immediately after, is the Quire concert, so Mom and I have to rush to that and then rush to the reception right after, lest our relatives think we are terrible people. On Sunday, we'll be going... somewhere else in the state, I don't exactly know where, to attend the fiftieth anniversary mass of a relative who is a priest. There's another concert scheduled sometime in the afternoon in Ceder Rapids, but I have no idea whether or not Mom and I will be going to that.
In the mean time, I should probably find something suitable to wear to a wedding that's either white, black, or a white top and black bottom for the first half of the concert, and then figure out a way to safety-pin my obi for the second half. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to change in less than ten minutes.
And, uh, that's everything, I think. So unless it turns out that I actually broke something (heaven forbid), my weekend looks like it's shaping up to be pretty damn busy.
...Oh, and there were tornados in the state again yesterday. None in Iowa City, from what I'm aware, but we still had to deal with watches/warnings/etc. ...Also, not ten minutes after I slipped down the stairs (and made myself lie down because I felt overheated for a while, and ended up losing my appetite for an hour or two, the slaking of which I had gone upstairs for in the first place), Dad called to tell us that he was worried about the weather and maybe we could do some chores downstairs or something? And vacuuming the stairs sounded like a pretty safe chore for Socchan. I am Not Amused, universe. Very much Not Amused. Thankfully, my little brother was awesome and did the vacuuming for me ♥ Admit it, you all want my little brother for yourselves. Well, you can't have him. He's mine. *raspberries*
Aaah, that feels better. ...Not much better, but it's good to vent sometimes. Or so I'm told. Anyway, how's your week shaping up? ♥♥♥ (Both good news and more whining from other people welcome.)
