Frustration and art musings

soc_puppetI love my dad, really I do, but this is just not working out that well.
Some six months ago or so...
Dad: Since I've rearranged things around the computer and set up these crates to work as book space, and since you're always there, would you like to use any of them Socchan?
Socchan: *thinks about it* You know, I think I would. *promptly fills three of them with manga*
Shortly afterwards:
Dad: Where did all these comic books come from?
Socchan: Dad, you said I could use the space there if I wanted to.
Dad: I did, didn't I?
Socchan: Yes, you did.
Dad: I think I only said that because I didn't think you would.
Socchan: ...Tell me that first, why don't you.
Dad: I guess you can keep the stuff there as long as I get to use the other shelves.
Socchan: Okay, I can live with that.
The other day:
Dad: Hey, check out this neat bookshelf I got at a garage sale today!
Bookshelf: *is an ordinary brown five-shelf bookshelf*
Socchan: ...Yeah, what about it?
Dad: Well, how 'bout we set it up in your room? :DDD
Socchan: ...Uh, how 'bout not?
Dad: C'mon, it'll be fun! And then we can move all those books out of the space I accidentally said you could use so I can take it over! I know just the place for it, too; you can put it on top of that bookshelf you're already using, even though I already set up a shelf system with a couple of giant plastic tupperware containers there two or three years ago and it is now covered with your stuff that you would have to move. And it doesn't really matter if it's not white like I made sure the rest of your furniature was!
Socchan: ...Maybe you didn't notice the seven or so anime posters you'll be covering up with it if you move it where you want it to go? (Not that it stopped you from covering up Escher a few years ago, who you at least are familiar with.) And you did say I could use that space by the computer. I'd really rather not.
Dad: *not really paying attention* *continues to make plans*
This morning:
Dad: Tell you what. You make your bed today, and then we'll get started on installing that bookshelf together. How's that work?
Socchan: *thinking* Oh fuck no. He's gonna invade my room? Just to install a bookshelf I don't want there so he can have the space he said I could use? Not gonna happen. If I have to give up the right to decide what to put in my room, I'm at least making full use of when and how it's getting in there. *aloud: non-commital noise*
This afternoon:
Socchan: *goes into her room, takes down her posters, moves everything off of the previous bookshelf and side-table thing, wipes a few things off, drags the new bookshelf in, installs it, moves books from beside the computer and various places in her room to the new bookshelf*
Dad: *arrives home* *doesn't even notice the bookshelf is missing from where he'd last left it*
Socchan: *practically combusts*
....Yeah. Issues. That, and pretty much every time I talk to Dad these days he either lectures me or assigns me a chore or three to do. More often chores than lectures, which is one of the few blessings. Still annoys the heck out of me, and ends up with me limiting our contact whenever possible. Not fun with a direct family member. He didn't do it nearly as much when the out-of-town family was here, which was actually one of my favorite things about this weekend, but now that they're gone he's picking it up again. It's driving me nuts!
I also seem to be using sleep as an escape these days, which frightens me, as I'm sure it's a bad idea. I don't want to be a narcoleptic!
...I also seem to have way too much emo in my journal these days. So. Calming down now, really.
Anyway, I have discovered that, after once getting the hang of drawing KHI Kairi, it is now near impossible for me to draw KHII Kairi. Especially with how little concept art of her I've seen. Which is basically the one picture of her in her uniform. Need more art. Also spent about an hour this afternoon (before the bookshelf) looking up Three of Cups tarot card images on google and trying desperatley to remember the meaning correctly. I think I could probably get away with slapping my OT3 (Sora, Riku, Kairi) in for fanart, though someone more familiar with symbolism and tarot and so forth would probably correct me on that. It would probably be more correct to put Sora, Donald and Goofy into it, but I don't like that as much.
...Also gonna hafta practically destroy my brother's hair for a good Demyx cosplay. I don't know if I'll enjoy it or not. I think I will.
Edit: On that note, I think I'll probably skip out on cosplaying Shikamaru this year. If I work quickly, I might have enough time to make my brother's costume, but there's no way I'll manage mine, my brother's and an extra one for Pat in the time before Anime Iowa. ...And I have no idea whether Hannah still wants me to come up with someone for her to cosplay or not. She'd make a passable Hawkeye, and we can probably get away with using Chris's old Roy costume from last year for her, but her hair's either a little too long or a little to short to be a definite canon Hawkeye. It's just the right length for pre-apotoxin Shiho, but she would be damn hard to cosply recognizably. Though she might be able to pull of Ritsuko. ...On the other hand, I don't particularly want to touch NGE these days, and I have no idea how Hannah feels about it, so.
Edit 2: ...I need books. Badly. Or possibly just a T-shirt program and the appropriate iron-on paper. Either way.
Edit 3: Got the paper ^___^ As well as three extra T-shirts to iron things on to. Here's hoping and/or assuming that one of the art programs on my computer will mirror images so I don't end up wearing something with DUFC on it or something.
