Convention grumping and shirt offer

...Yeah, not much time left to finish cosplay stuff DD: I've got three shirts ready, and I can probably whip up some ticky-boxes pretty last minute, so I guess I'd better get started on a 'laptop'.
Also, my brother is being annoying. Recently, he's been digging through my manga collection a bit more extensively, so he's read both FMA and Bleach. This is not the bad part. The bad part is, while we were on vacation? Tomas wore one of the hats Dad picked up at a trip to K-mart (I am unsure when this trip took place). And it was white. And somewhat like a fishing hat. And, he thinks, would look mighty fine with some green stripes on it. (Well, he said red, but he's colorblind, so it's not his fault.) So the problem is, now he has a character that he wants to cosplay, not just a character he's relatively indifferent about cosplaying.

Tomas: DD: But but but... Urahara! [It's Urahara's HAT, man!]
Socchan: More hate. Also, Lyzz would kill me [if you don't dress up as Demyx].
Tomas: *looks pitiful*
And I have roughly twelve days left to make one or both costumes.
At this point, I'm half tempted to just give up on the whole thing, demand a refund from him, and go without the brat. The other part of me is willing to let him dress as Urahara as long as I don't have to make (most of) the damn costume. The third part of me is desperate to please everyone, and wishes to make Tomas help with the Urahara costume extensively, let him wear it for one day, and then take over his costume/looks the next day (make him shave, give him a haircut, put cover-up on his face, etc). ...I'd really like to go with the third option, but I don't know that I have the time or energy at this point. The vacation didn't help, nor did AI moving up its date from last year. I'm used to having considerably more time, yasee.
Anyway, long story short, I'm conflicted here. And it's not going away. Any opinions from anyone out there?
And now, to chase away the costume blues (somewhat), I would like to announce that I made two new CFUD T-shirts today, and rather burned one of them :D;;; It's not a terrible burn. You can still read what's on it, and it's certainly wearable. Really, it's just got a cream-colored ovaloid-rectangle behind it. Have a picture. Anyway, what I'm leading up to with all this is: I'm probably going to make a new one for myself, but this is a perfectly good (Large, 100% cotton) shirt and I don't want it to go to waste. Do any of my CFUD friends want it? No charge, I'd just have to look up what it would take to send it to you. And I'd need an address to send it to, also. And probably find a box or envelope or something.And I should probably mail MoF that pic while I'm at it -_-a
Anyway, going back to stressing mildly. I should get a 'stressed/stressing' icon. ...Or maybe I should just get/make a mood theme. That might work.
Edit: ...Cosplay griping now edited for slightly more clarity. I hope.
Edit 2: While I'm at it, would that blasted LJ navigation bar/strip/whatever plz to go away now? Or at least become much more customizable. I mean, come on. If you're going to make something practically manditory for us, at least make it something that looks okay with the default style. (Also, my default icon is so not something that lends itself to pretty when shrunken down to that size, kthx.)
