I don't know that I can think of an excuse for Kaito (maybe visiting ~~you~~ a relative?), but Kid would so be there to steal something. I dunno, maybe he heard about a jewel that allowed people to read the minds of anyone else who touched it? ;) And Jii so could have flown him there on a helecopter or something.

Hakuba, of course, would only be chasing him. And then would get side-tracked by the murder mystery, of course.
