Bad half-hour today. Just for you (and because I don't want my journal to become overrun with it), I limit my bitching to a single paragraph ♥ And LJ-cut it. Tell me I am not awesome.

...Actually, there really wasn't much that was too bad today. Granted, having to sit for three hours in a cushoiney chair because I didn't want to walk home and back between classes was not a pleasant experience for my tailbone (note to self, check date of original bone breakage so you can ask doctor about it tomorrow morning (>_<)), but I got to sit in a nice hard desk chair after that, so it's more or less better now. It also surprised me how fast I got to and from school--I'm pretty sure I never got down to just half an hour when I was still regularly walking last year, let alone what may have only been twenty-five minutes on my trip to. It was still exhausting :/ Got home and kinda sat and read/watched TV for a while, then got up to make dinner. At around five-thirty, Mom comes home, waxing poetic about the adorable four-week-old kittens Mark had at the Fun Zone (in the back room, since he just got them recently and they're still young to be on their own, I think?) and tells Tomas and me that we have to go see them, Right This Minute. The oven's still warming up and the food'll still be there when I get back, so I go to see 'em. First kink in the plan is revealed when Mom says she hadn't planned on taking us there but on us going on our own, and she'd stay home to take care of the food. Okay, I could deal with that, though the trip was now slightly less of a family fun outing. Next kink is that Tomas leaves the car as soon as he is able, and I'm stuck driving around for the next fifteen minutes, searching in vain for a parking space. (I could've used a ramp, but I didn't want to for such a short trip.) Ended up parking in the alley next door and turning on the flashy light things (whose technical term escapes me for the moment), which allows me up to fifteen minutes of parking there. Went into the store, only to be greeted by the third kink: the kittens were already asleep. Dragged Tomas home with me after a minute or two in the store, very grumpy. Found out that my initial dinner plans had also been somewhat overrun, resulting in me being quite annoyed, as well as the fact that I had missed even the last five minutes of my show (which we could've taped, but I'd never have watched it then, and I don't want to deal with scraps of television shows on our blank tapes anyhow). Add to this that I haven't gotten my meds yet, and the problem is compounded.

Long story short, the last few hours haven't made me exactly overjoyed to see the world. Add to that the French exam tomorrow, and Dr's appt. that I have to get up at eight for, and you get one not-so-chipper fangirl. I have, however, been doing my best to combat my annoyance, since driving angry isn't a good idea. To do this, I've been pondering how to deal with the next chapter of Communications in my spare minutes, and also new forms of Kaito torture :DD Very relaxing that second thing, let me tell you. Looking forward to writing a few of them. Only wish I still had the 'net at home, so I could spend entirely too long on google image search again, staring at pictures of goldfish. (This is one of the main reasons I miss having the 'net at home. Entertainment I can get elsewhere, but finding the exact right picture for an icon, or looking up images for art reference takes time.)

Speaking of searching, anyone know what those fish sculptures on Chinese-style roof corners are called? If I ever knew the name, it's long since slipped my mind.

Edit: ...Eh, what the heck. *friends delurkers from most recent Lurker Day*

Edit 2: Tailbone was broken on June 6th. It's now roughly three months later. Two weeks of pain for a break, my ass. (...Er. Literally, I guess. *shot for the bad joke*)

I've never heard before anything to the effect that turning on one's flashers allows one legally to park up to fifteen minutes in locations in which one would otherwise not be permitted to park. That's okay, there's a lot of law type stuff of which I've never heard before. I was wondering, though, whether you are presenting this as legal canon or whether you are saying this jokingly in light of your having parked this way?
