Ohshit, I know this feeling. This is a very not good feeling.

Okay, calm down, Socchan. It's not clinical depression until it's been two weeks. So now it's time to start counting the days and hoping against hope that it won't make it that long.


Moving right along, here's some news that I neglected to address ^^a

First, we finally got news of what will happen to our chapel after it was pretty much destroyed by a tornado on Holy Thursday of this year. The church will be selling the land that the current shell is standing on and rebuilding elsewhere. (Coincidentally, we'll be rebuilding closer to where my family lives now.)

Second, Mom was recently gone on a trip to Kansas City to meet a friend and took the car with her. I was very glad to get it back yesterday, as I will no longer have to walk to and/or from school. At least, not for a while, anyway.


Anyway, meme time.

Okay, this one I'm just pulling out of thin air. See, I suck royally at drawing people/characters kissing. Really, I do. Why do you think you've never seen it here?

But I want to fix this. Partly because there's this short comic that I want to work on whose entire first frame is centered around a kiss, and partly so I can draw characters making out. Okay, mostly so I can draw characters making out. And I figure that the fastest way to learn is with practice. Lots and lots of practice.

SO! Here's what I want you to do: name two characters you want me to draw kissing. I will then attempt to draw them in a timely fashion. If I take more than a week days, I will be thrown into a pit of lava. Hopefully, I will take less time than that, but I plan to invest in a heat-resistant suit just in case. When the drawings are done, I will post them here.

Series I'm familiar with are prefered (see userinfo for incomplete list), but if you have reference images I can work off of, then I can probably whip something up. I'll do my best to put personality into the pictures, and if you have an overall 'scene' in mind, I'm willing to give that a shot as well. (Hint: the more clearly I can see something in my mind's eye, the more likely I am to draw it. Also, funny/intriguing helps in that regard.) Limit of two drawings per customer. You can request more, but I'll only draw two.

And that's all I can think of. Have at it! Distract me!

If you need some help/tips with drawing kissing couples please ask me. Sometimes the hardest part about couples kissing is the difference in height. It's really easy to make the mistake of drawing characters the same height when one is taller than the other.

You may want to look at real life pics of couples kissing as a reference. :)

Speaking of OT3s, but still going out on a tangent, is it just me, or does the SoraKairi (and by default, RoxasNamine) stuff in KH2 seem a little forced?

I mean, there's more AxelRoxas in every conversation you have with Axel than there's RoxasNamine in the entire game, and same thing with RukiSora in the final battle, compaired to SoraKairi... D:

The RoxasNaminé stuff I majorly agree with you on, but not so much the SoraKairi. I'd say that Kairi was more of a solid presence in the game than Riku was, except in the end, and at that point the OT3 vibe kinda punted me through the nearest window. ...'Course, I was also dorking it out over Kairi getting to kick butt at the time, but.

True, Kairi getting ti kick butt is awesome (but what the hell is up with that Keyblade? Don't they think it's too flowery for anyone to be afraid of?), but It'd like to point out something while we're on that point of the game (not a Kairi hater, I just like RikuSora more than the OT3, it seems :D;;; ) :

-When Sora meets Kairi again, he (hesitantly?) returns her hug.

-When Sora meets Riku again, he breaks into tears.

*late reply, whoops* Actually, I believe Meg (lazulisong) once refered to it as the "Sueblade" or somesuch.

...Okay, yeah, I haven't got a lot to counter that. There's speculation on my part, followed by suggested reasons (he was surprised to see her there/get hugged out of the blue?), but not really much ^^a Still, in friendly defence of my OT3 (and in the spirit of good-natured arguments), Kairi did figure out that it was Riku before Sora, and they did kinda stand there for a number of minutes holding hands together. Anyway, Sora already knew that he had Kairi; he was finding Riku again for the first time after looking for him for so long and not knowing when he'd see him again.

I would also like to concede that I'm pretty sure we were never explicitley shown who Sora was thinking of when he got embarrassed around Disney characters "getting their mack on" (quote... somebody), so people are free to work that however they like ¦D

On a personal history note, we got our copy of Kingdom Hearts shortly after I was finally getting comfortable with yaoi. (I didn't even know I was a yaoi fan until I picked up a copy of DNAngel, I'm ashamed to admit ^^a) So I saw the chemestry between Riku and Sora, but I also saw Sora and Kairi, and even Kairi and Riku (♥), and was rooting for an OT3 from the get-go. ...And then there's the canon whore in me, who knew that Disney, at least, wanted Sora and Kairi, so I had to acknowledge it somehow -_-a It's also what fueld my defensive reaction to Roxas/Naminé, and kneejerk OT3-ing.

So, uh, yeah. Ball's in your court? Though at the end I expect I'll probably just agree to disagree, it's still interesting to hear different viewpoints and what's behind them.

Actually, I'll concede that Sora probably started crying because of the shock, mostly, but it still makes my innder fangirl happy :D

But...Uh....if you....Er....I think I'm out of points ^__^a

The only other point I can think of right now, is that most of the characters never really ask or tells Sora anything about Kairi, even after she gets kidnapped. Even the Organization XIII member they talk with after the Showdown At Hollow Bastion can't rememeber his name, but with that cross scar, he looks like a blue-haired mix of Seifer and Leon/Squall somehow direct the topic on to Riku, and then Sora gets distracted with that, if I remember right.

Hell, even Santa never talks about Kairi to Sora, and she's right above him on the list (as far as I can tell anyway) and I'm only bringing that up to say that Sora wanting to see Santa is the cutest thing ever, even though he's supposed to be, what, 15? 16? Maybe more?

P.S. There's a How To Draw Manga book specifically on couples, they have a bit on kissing, but probably not enough to get the whole book just for that. Other than that, there's always fanart X3;

And since there's two drawings each, I think I can probably pull that one off as well. (I don't think we do? I've never bought them myself, but I've always thought of them as "fake devil horns headbands" or somesuch.)

PS: I actually already have that one :D;;; It was one of my motivations in buying it, but there's only a few pages on the subject :( That other option may be the way to go...
