soc_puppet | Art, and far too much about CFUD

*socchan takes a minute to turn the green off* There we go. Holiday over and all that. ...Well, except in yesterday's post, where it totally still counts as St. Patrick's Day.

Posting that pic I keep talking about, at long last ;) Under the cut, to keep my bandwidth from dying, and to help dialup users survive.

This is Claire :3 She's the best friend I was talking about for a little while back at the end of this post? Yeah. She has a personality that a lot of people would probably describe as 'twisted' or 'warped,' but I like to think affectionately of as 'jagged,' and possibly 'with slightly sharp edges.' Considering that she was best friends with Samantha, who is more than a little obsessed with unrequited love, since she was three or four years old, I think her personality is a little understandable. ...She would also probably be worse if she hadn't befriended Samantha. Yeah.

I'm also planning to give her and Samantha a brief cameo in the series mentioned above, probably in the background during the Colorado trip :3 I just have so much love for Claire. I mean, Samantha is probably a lot simpler, to draw and to deal with (once you get past her never reading the end of romance novels and burning love letters), but I just have so much more fun with Claire. I would't be surprised if it was because she's more complex than Samantha that I like her better.

Her left leg is a little off - it should be shifted to the right (of the page) a little more - but other than that, I think it turned out pretty well.

Moving right along, the rest of the post is probably going to be about CFUD. This is partly because it's about halfway through Lent already and I need a break, and partly because it's Sunday and I actually can indulge. So yeah, if you aren't already obsessed with

campfuckudie, then this will probably bore you silly. ...You know, unless you suddenly become obsessed because of/before reading it.

First off, a couple of preliminary t-shirt designs:

Quote is Tomo's, from quite a while back, but the idea is probably technically Haru (Marluxia-mun, not the Furuba character)'s fault. Mostly 'cuz she has an icon with the text, and then explained it to someone, and then I thought it might make a good t-shirt. So, in the event that my ~~evil~~ plans for making and selling CFUD t-shirts ever get off the ground, she and Tomo will probably each get one for free. Or at least I'll only charge for shipping or something.

If you want to get technical, I didn't really draw the baby myself; I just traced over an image I found on Wiki, which uses only non-copyrighted pics. Horray for non-copyrighted stuff that I can use!

This one is a little more obscure. See, May 16th is Mandatory Naked Day at CFUD. So if you don't know that, this kinda makes less sense. Which is why I'm contemplating making a second version that actually says "On Mandatory Naked Day" instead of "On May 16th". ...My icon is probably going to stay the same, though.

On that note, I've got icon versions of both of these, both of which are up for grabs if anyone wants them.

Moving on, this next part is mostly raving:

First of all, and I really, really wanted to rave about this when it first happened, we have an official manga-ka who posted art for CFUD: go check it out, it's awesome and cute ♥

And then she started taking requests. Asdldfjksdk. Needless to say, I was more than a little sad that the library hadn't picked up her series (Mark of the Succubus, for anyone who's interested), especially as I'll be needing any money I get to pay for Acen registration.

So yeah. She is officially full of awesome.

...Also, it begs the question (to me, at least) of, Could this be the first manga-ka who might actually endorse her characters showing up in CFUD? 'Cuz yeah. She's a fan, she's published, it's technically possible. Er. If you think about it, I guess. I dunno, I didn't have the guts to ask, myself ^^a

Next raving topic, Natsuo-mun kinda wrote a CFUD Fanfic novel. Which took me about four hours to read, and was entirely too cute for my own good. Asdkfjsdlkj catboy antics ♥♥♥

Thirdly, the reason I'm kinda vaguely planning a CFUD-esque Hana-Kimi pirate!fic is here (locked to

campersfuckoff). The link includes far too many notes, most of which I got fairly close with, as far as I can tell. About the only thing I seem to have deviated on when compared to Nanba-mun's answer to my Serious Poll was when and why Mizuki became a pirate. Also, I now share blame with Kio-mun for any pirate icons that Io-mun ends up making ♥

And that's all the CFUD raving I've got for now ♥ Ah, it feels good to get that out of my system.
