Huh. Not a lot to say, today. Currently haning out at the library, so I can get my internet time in, and will be sticking around until around 6:00-ish (central time), but I doubt I'll be able to go on for the last hour-and-a-half-ish of that. Library time is limited to an hour and a half, and I've got just more than eleven minutes left of this first forty-five minute session. Next one is going to be dedicated to uploading the Avatar Air book scans, probably.
Family has tentative plans to go to Pennsylvania (probably mostly the Erie area, with maybe a brief trip to Niagra Falls?) this summer; this year is dedicated to visiting Dad's family, since we visited Mom's last year. Still not sure that it's 100% going to happen, but talk is going on. In any case, it's considerably more likely than anyone in our family getting a spontaneous extra couple thousand dollars and going on the Harry Potter trip with my (maternal) aunt and cousin, even though they do, technically, still have room for one more adult.
Managed to scribble out the tenth page of That Thing With Clair And Her Friend (still needs an actual title =_=), and am hoping to get to that sometime this afternoon while I'm in the library. Might actually get more than one page done today, with any luck; then again, I am also known in some circles as Lady Not Holding Her Breath Here. Also scribbled a somewhat better drawing of Chase from this thing (which I am thinking of calling Boy Band, simply for the sheer irony in none of the band members being male) (and also, Lyzz, I'm kinda sorta vaguely thinking of naming their manager (who is related to Chase in some way) after you, would that be okay?) on the back of a notecard; hopefully it'll give me a better handle on her hair.
Aaaand we're down to less than two minutes on this session, so I'mma finish this entry up and get to signing out/signing in again so I can upload stuff. Note to self: bug Joan about that drawing drawing...
Edit: Ah-hah! Enough time after uploading to continue to talk! Er, not that I have much to talk about still. Oh! I did go to see Meet the Robinsons yesterday. Overall, a cute film, though I feel that some bits could've been planned a bit better. I, for one, would've liked to hear about frogs potentially having greater musical capacity than humans before the trip to the future, but that's just me. I also felt that some things were a little too over-the-top, like the writers were trying too hard to be funny; the doorbell twins come to mind first in this case (and I am disturbingly curious about that other doorbell now). Still, the ending made me warm and fuzzy inside, so they get points for that. I also gotta wonder how much of everything was in the book it was based off of (which I can't remember the title of at the moment, argh argh). And that's my two cents on that, so I guess I'm going to close up here more formally.

Date: 2007-04-07 11:10 pm (UTC)The book's called A Day With Wilbur Robinson, and I'm thinking the movie is only based off of the main concept. I think all of the family members are in it, but I don't think there's any mention of time travel, and I'm pretty sure there's no villainous plot. However, I haven't actually read it, sooo.
But yeah, there's a lot I wish they would have expounded more on in the film. And I think the parts where it seemed like they were trying too hard to be funny was mostly for the younger kids' sakes.
In other news, I have new icons since last we spoke, and I'm pretty sure I deserve to be shot for some of them. :D

Date: 2007-04-08 07:51 pm (UTC)Thought that's what it was :3
Just forgot whether he was Wilbur or William. Er.And yeah, that happens a lot =_= Like Night at the Museum. But yes! Definitely needs more explanation stuff DD: ...And yeah, probably, but still.Okay, I'mma hafta look at those now X3

Date: 2007-04-08 07:58 pm (UTC)Same here, at first. XD Actually, I thought he was just Will. Please tell me I'm not the only one disappointed that the robot never said, "DANGER DANGER WILL ROBINSON" :<...Night at the Museum was a book?It's mostly this one. XD I'm still not entirely sure what compelled me to make this one. (...well. Yes, I am, but we won't go into that.) It's mostly the keywords I should be shot for. ^^;
And the comment. There's also one more that I haven't added my userpic repertoire or posted to my journal yet, because I just can't quite convince myself to do it.
When I do, though, it will probably have the keywords "a special kind of wrongderful" (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/lyzz/Icons/meet_the_robinsons/mtr_wilburlewis3.png) and probably someone will kill me. I'm working on making it look better right now, though.no subject
Date: 2007-04-08 08:12 pm (UTC)XD Works for me! ...That would have been the best thing ever and one of us should make an icon to that effect like, yesterday. Yep :3 Or at least based on a book. Only I think it was a picture book, and the main character's name was different, so more like 'inspired by' than 'based on'? *would have to search her entries again and check*
Still, hilarity XD And they both win.
Also, votes for your default icon to have new keyword: "Schway" :Db?*looks at the picture* ...Okay, I enable this.ILU ♥♥♥wow, this html is complicated
Date: 2007-04-08 08:28 pm (UTC)Yeah, in my head, I pretty much just call him Wil, because everytime I think of the name Wilbur, I start thinking of Charlotte's Web. XD; ...I'll see what I can do? D: At the very least, I can use that as keywords for an icon.Huh. I had no idea! XDOmg, yes "schway". :D I love that word~
But-but D: the spoilers! And the wrong! And the- oh, who am I kidding. I'll probably upload it as soon as I find out how to make it as shiny as Mem makes her icons. ILU2~ ♥♥♥♥♥♥you're telling ME
Date: 2007-04-08 08:45 pm (UTC)XD That works. That also works, and I approve :Db Alternately, write fic.Yup! I noticed it one time I watched, and spent the rest of that viewing wondering if it was based off of a novel or off of a picture book, because man, if it was a novel, I could totally read some of the scenes right from the screen. ...Is it weird that I do that? Because I watched FFVII:AC as if it was a video game, too.Schway = awesome and future-tastic :3b So it totally fits with Wilbur!
You know, one of these days I'mma just write an AU to Meet the Robinsons, where SPOILERS don't happen >:( SOUR GRAPES? WHAT SOUR GRAPES? I SEE NO SOUR GRAPES HERE.how do we get ourselves into these html mazes?
Date: 2007-04-08 08:53 pm (UTC)AND IT HAS TO HAVE ONLY ONE L, because it's cooler that way. D: I. Um. NO U.Oh man, I do that too! I also sometimes read books and picture how it would be done in a movie. Specifically, the Alex Rider books....That is to say. We'll see. I think I need to watch it a few more times first. Or wait for someone else to write the first one.
I didn't even think about that! XD It does fit, though.
Are we talking about the wrongderful spoilers here? Because I approve, yes. :Dbi think it starts by us trying to be more expressive, and then going really overboard.
Date: 2007-04-08 09:08 pm (UTC)YES, IT MUST, because it is. DDD: U 1st!Oh thank God I'm not the only one. *bonds with you over dorky habits*Sounds reasonable XD
Doesn't it, though? :DDb A++ keywords, BTW ;)
Yes, we are :3 And I could totally pull it off, I'd just need a different reason for him going back in time to save/help Cornelius. ...WTF why does that name stick better than his original one.ah, i see. it all makes sense now! (ps: movie spoiler warning)
Date: 2007-04-08 09:20 pm (UTC)Which reminds me, somehow! I need to try and upload Cats Don't Dance for you again. The first time didn't go so well. x_x It was saying something like 3 days to upload just the first part.*dorky bonds yaaaay*Hahaha, why thank you~ ♥
Hmm. That could be tricky. I shall think on it! Possibly you could go with him actually being a timecop! :D Or a wannabe timecop, maybe. And- I dunno. I pretty much use both names equally, for the separate ages. Like, I call him Lewis when I'm thinking about him when he was young, and Cornelius when he's older.Re: ah, i see. it all makes sense now! (ps: movie spoiler warning)
Date: 2007-04-08 09:41 pm (UTC)That would be love, but don't kill your connection, rly DD: You can always try with smaller chunks, if need be.*yaaay, dorkyness!*I speak only the truth ;3
Right now I'm kinda thinking that Cornelius and Louis could actually be different people, and then Lewis could maybe be a friend of Cornelius's or something? Still thinking. But yeah, that makes sense. ...I just couldn't remember the name Louis/Lewis for some reason =_=aPS: I just posted the Horton/Avatar fic!

Hmm. That could work... And there's always the ever-popular long-lost twin brother cliche! :D *shot*
PS: Omg yay! *goes to read!*

XD I'm tempted to do that, now. And his mom could totally have dropped off an extra clone somewhere or something. I mean twin! I totally said twin, you saw me write it and not clone at all, really! *shifty eyes*
no subject
Date: 2007-04-08 10:07 pm (UTC)Yep! :D Just about another hour and I'll have half of it up!
Oh yeah. Definitely twin. No one ever said anything about a clone.
no subject
Date: 2007-04-08 10:10 pm (UTC)...We talking half the movie, or half the file? Just. So I have some sense of proportion and how much I should thank you and stuff.
Yes, absolutely nothing was said about clones at all. *is innocent, she swears*

Date: 2007-04-08 10:12 pm (UTC)Half the movie. XD
I don't even know what clones are. Never heard of them in my life.
