May actually be getting a little income soon, so.

SOMEONE TALK AT ME ABOUT INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS. Who's good, who's bad, and (most importantly IMHO), who has the best deal? Are there monthly payment plans?

Most ISPs have a monthly service plan with some kind of contract.

I like Speakasy's small feel, but it ain't cheap. Do you have a cable or a phone plan already? That may/may not be cheaper, depending, so I recommend looking at the avalible ones.

We're with Mediacom at the moment for phone and cable, to the best of my knowledge, but my parents don't want to pay for the 'net when I stay up until one in the morning watching CFUD ^^a Or at all, really. Apparently it had gone up to something like forty bucks a month for cable 'net?

I have Verizon DSL and really like it most of the time, but… as far as I can tell, it's only a good deal if everything else is Verizon and you don't need cable. Ssssso. If you're okay with dialup, that can sometimes be much cheaper at a local level, but, well, dialup and time limits :/

The important thing is to find out who and what's available in your area! I just. Don't know how to actually do that. ooooops.

Yeeeah, probably not. Dialup I could look into, especially if I could use the cell phone and thus not tie up the home line. It would probably be about as fast as hijacking my brother's DS and Panera's wireless, what with the one taking forever to load graphics and the other taking forever to type with.

XD I'll have to look around, then. Maybe Wiki'll have some ideas...
