Quire starts up again today, so I figured I'd finally get off my butt and start uploading all the music of ours I've got so far.
A quick reminder, The Quire is Eastern Iowa's GLBT(A) chorus, so yes, spelling intentional. There are also some songs that deal with GLBT issues, so be aware of that when downloading.
The Marriage Question
Zip of all songs (~77 MB)
Individual songs that I personally really like:
Below in the Valley - Dubbed the Kiss-Off Song by the group. Listen to the last verse to find out why XD
No Thank You John - No, thank you, John, I really don't want to get married to you.
Mother I Will Have a Husband - Is it just me, or is anyone else channeling Sonoko for this?
I Do - A personal favorite of mine, arguments for gay marriage. Absolutely hilarious.
Till the Stars Fall From the Sky - Just kinda pretty and romantic. STFU, I'm weak to that kind of stuff.
Frostiana
Zip of all songs (~90 MB)
Individual songs I personally really like:
Choose Something Like a Star - The program this year was named for a set of poems by Robert Frost set to music; my decision came down to this one and Two Paths in a Yellow Wood.
Good Ale - Lists all sorts of reasons why ale is better to consume than just about anything else. Mostly meat.
When I Think of Winter - Another "pretty, romantic" song. I just kinda melt inside when I hear it.
Joy to the World - Not Bethoven's Ninth. The other one. About the frog. With the original lyrics and everything.
The Twelve Groovy Days of Christmas - Twelve Days of Christmas with a 70's theme. We probably just sang it for the "Ooo~! Ooo~!" bit.
Who Are the Brave?
Zip of all songs (~95 MB) [Includes readings that were part of the performance on individuals' heroes.]
Individual songs I personally really like:
Who Are the Brave - Program title song. I get choked up on a lot of these songs, actually.
Heroes - A song about women heroes. very popular in elementary schools these days apparently.
Fences - It has that some "one-two, one-two, one-two-three" beat as that one song in West Side Story. Mostly as juxtaposition for the next song.
Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor - The poem written on the statue of liberty's book, set to music. I had a hard time keeping a dry eye while singing it.
The Quest Unending - Based off of the poem Ulysses, which was about the Greek guy and not the general. Enormously fun to sing, and very powerful sounding.
Zips are on SendSpace, individual songs are on MF. They'd all be on MF, but it was hating me earlier, so I figured I'd try somewhere else first. I may make mirrors later.
