Hoshit guys, the "Flag as adult content" button thing (see bullet point five) appears to be live. Hoshit. Did this just go up, or has it been up for weeks and I just somehow hadn't noticed? I need to go edit my own entries for personal flagging now or something ._. (Editing and posting being the only places you can flag your own entries.) Um. On the plus side, I've yet to see it on locked posts? Though there is a nice "Flag this journal :Db" link in the navigation bars. Right next to "Manage friends". The cynic in me wonders if they aren't trying to tell us something.

Edit: ...Shit, I just remembered the other reason why I don't like this button. How do I tell what counts as "adult content"? They still haven't told us.

I should probably go through and flag my lemons anyway. Just in case.

Edit 2: Yeah, it's up and running all right. Rassa frassa mutter grumble... And just 'cuz I don't feel like stating the year in which I was born. Phooey on you, too!

The "adult content" entries have this nice little automatic cut, too. "You are about to view content that may not be appropriate for minors." I have half a mind to cut this entry with that now, just to be an ass.

Edit 3: Have now edited the year I was born into my profile. Thank you "show just day and month" birthday option! With any luck, that's the last of the trouble I'll have with it on the "outside looking in" angle.

Edit 4: Hey, guys? Do I flag otherwise innocent mpreg fics as having adult concepts, or not? I have no idea where to go with this.

Also, I'm beginning to regret some of my "multiple fics in the same post" habit. I mean, there are some posts where one of the fics has adult concepts but the other(s) don't/doesn't. Do I mark them and hope everyone who wants to can read the non-adult part, or do I not mark them and hope I don't get flagged? *sigh*

I would assume so; they've put an entry about leg shaving under an "adult content" cut, and that's after I clicked the "I am 14 or older" button. *is also le sighing*

*headdesk* I keep forgetting to ask! Um, personally leaning towards the third weekend in December, since a different friend has proposed a social outing on the 9th. Parents will probably be okay with it, unless we get Horrible Weather, knock on wood.

I noticed the little last night, and then went to look up "adult content (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=281&q=adult+content&lang=)" in the FAQ. (Though I keep fearing the flag in the message center that stands for favourite may be of similar nature, ahaha, silly thought I know. ><; )


Am just going to sit here and wait to see how well this functionality gets implemented by users before I conveniently remember my more... daring fanarts.

At least they aren't being total hardasses about the interpretation of "obscene" any more. (I'm actually more amused by the fact that they keep the flags up in the official LJ-run posts. "Hi, this is the announcement post where we tell you about the new Report Adult Content flag! Pay no attention to the Report Adult Content flag we have included at the top of our own post 8D" I'm waiting for people to report it in a revolt.)

I've already marked my stuff, Just In Case, but I'm still waiting to see how the system is used before making my own judgments.

It's a new thing. And I take adult content to mean something like "R" rated. Though, that doesn't work so well because I know people cuss in their journals and they are under 17. *shrug* It's a good idea that needs a lot more work and some serious guidelines and rules.

I'm gambling on marking it if it's sexual or violent, and ignoring the cursing at the moment. I'm hoping I'm playing it safe enough.
