Cut for spoilers :O 14 and 15 will additionally be whited out.

3x12:

This episode, I believe, can be summed up in the following way: Zuko, you are such a dork

Notes taken as I watched:

* Upside-down temple? BEST EVAR.

* Zuko, on recalling his first trip to the temple: "Please don't tell me I was actually that stupid three years ago DD:"

* Show quote! Toph: "Oh well. If it's important, I'll find out." Oh Toph, you just win all over in this episode.

* Zuko practicing what he's going to say will never stop being funny to me ever ever ever. Hilarity. O Zuzu, u such an immature teenage girl at heart ♥♥♥

* On the plus side, Appa approves of Zuko. I sense a deep friendship that could build from this!

* "Maybe he was covered in honey and Appa licked it off him!"
I now have the desire to create Honey Zukos, which would be a new honey-and-cinnamon flavored candy that would burn people from the sweet-spicy combo. And also addict them. Must come up with recipe, sell at AI...

* The very notion of uvula warts cracks me up.

* Show quote! Toph: "I'm just saying, considering his messed-up family and how he was raised, he could've turned out a lot worse."
Toph, you now get even more love from me. And since when were -you- the voice of reason? Never mind, I'm not complaining.

* Re: Combustion Man: Oh noes, watch out for the concussion! Oops, too late; now his brains go 'splodey. (The truth behind Spontaneous Human Combustion: Finally revealed?!)
--- In a looking-at-it-later sense, it was kinda anticlimactic for how much time and energy was spent on him. And we never got to hear him talk, and he never got a name, and... On the other hand, maybe they'll explain it on the commentary tracks, which I haven't gotten a chance to listen to yet.
--- Also, points off for the boomerang coming back after hitting him. Not that I should be arguing physics about a show where kids do magic martial arts, but still. Boomerang no comey backy after hitting something in real life! Don't rely on it, kids!

3x13

* Okay, this is officially my New Favorite Episode Ever, taking the place of... I'm not sure I remember what my previous favorite episode was, or even if I had one. Maybe 1x18? Or 2x02, for legends and cave-lovin'. Regardless, this now tops my list. (For, like. Non-finale episodes. Uh.)

* Tiny!Toph was basically the most adorable thing in the history of ever. And I need to make a Badger-Mole plushie now.
--- On a related note, I find it interesting that not all four elements were learned from animals; if you'll recall, legend says waterbenders learned their art from the Moon and how it pushed and pulled the tide.

* Loved the whole Mayan-esque thing for the Sun Warriors temple area. And the mirror-sword thing Zuzu pulled? Inspired, man.

* Aang: "I'm just very suspicious of giant glowing gems sitting on pedestals." ...I may need an icon of that now.

* Speaking of giant glowing gems (etc), I totally thought that was going to be a dragon egg. My theory is not yet disproven, and the show went way cooler than I thought it was going to, but still.

* The sun warriors in general? AWESOME. I love them so. Kinda in the same way I like the swampbenders, but different? Because swampbenders are really just an extension of what's already there, but the sun warriors are a hidden people who managed to keep the "true way of firebending" alive for who knows how long. Just... cool, man.
--- They also get points for having a lot of out-of-shape people in the tribe.

* I started shipping Aang and Zuko a little in this episode. And by "a little", I mean "a reasonably fair amount" and "can now begin to actually contemplate ZuTarAang as a legit OT3" and stuff. Y-yeah. Must! End! Shipping! War! OT3 = ULTIMATE SOLUTION!!!! ...I'll shut up now.

* T-the Dancing Dragon aldkfjsldfksjd. I now have to learn this form and practice it with friends. I shall dance at conventions! For fun! Needs moar Avatar danceparties y/y/m?

* Yay, another scrap about Uncle :DD I still miss him :( I hope we see more of him soon.

* I love how the Sun Warriors have SeasonOne!Zuko's hair ♥ I'll bet that's totally where the Fire Nation got the ponytail tradition. I wonder if Iroh was the one who suggested that Zuko shave the rest of his head when he was banished, or if it was related to treating the burn or just an extension of the "honor" thing (which I find likely). Still, it'd be pretty cool if it was Iroh's idea and based on them or something.

* Red Dragon/Blue Dragon again! Wonder if it has any significance based on Zuko's fever-dream from season two...

3x14; begin white-out! Highlight to read.

Okay, so I have no thoughts on these written out ahead of time. That's fine! I can totally do this off-the-cuff! *has confidence in herself, rly*

* Sokka? It was completely obvious what you were up to. Don't try lying to anyone about this.

* That one firebendy guy that gets in on the deal? I think I like him; he's kinda cool :3 Not that this helps me to remember his name at all...

* Suki is just plain awesome. Suki Suki Suki YAAAAAY we found you again! \o/

* Zuko apologizing for his past misdeeds is another thing that will never stop being hilarious for me. Or will at least continue to be hilarious for a long time in the future.

* Zuko remembered the firebreathing that Iroh taught him in the season one finale! Yay, Zuko! \o/ (Keep it up, kid, I'm actually starting to like you.)

* The other guards acted -totally- natural about the whole nervous-newbies-wearing-helmets things ♥ And just about anything that Zuko and Sokka came up with as an excuse for their behavior, really. I thought that was very realistic, myself.

* Something I've noticed: while Avatar is A++ about kickass girls in many cases, we don't actually see a lot of female leaders in this show. I mean, Katara definitely has her moments (like in the desert in season two and stuff), but for characters-of-the-day? Prison wardens are male, jailers are male, pirate lords (and crew) are male, temple leaders are male, village leaders are male, etc etc. Azula's one of the few women in power in the show, and she's definitely got supporting cast status by now at least; I, meanwhile, am kinda hoping for more "throwaway" female leaders. The only one I can think of is the one from 1x11, who was in charge of the non-prissy tribe... (Although, was Gran-Gran in charge of the South Pole when the warriors left? Hmm...)

* ...leaving it here, since I seem to be blending a lot of thoughts from the two episodes together.

3x15

AKA: The one where Mai makes Zuko sweat :DDD

* Dude, the warden's Mai's uncle?! Sucks for Zuko. Maaaajorly sucks for Zuko.

* No, seriously, I loved the face-off between Zuzu and Mai. Although, Zuko, I saw what was coming when you first recognized Mai's uncle. How did you not?

* Actually, the girls just kicked a whole lotta ass in general in this episode. Suki, with the wall climbing, and the Dangerous Ladies being their usual selves? Way cool.

* Way to stand up to Azula, Mai! You go!
--- It was probably only Mai's actions that gave Ty-Lee the courage to join her, though I wouldn't be surprised if Ty-Lee had thought about it herself for a while. Like, since Azula pulled her out of the circus even.

* BEST way to start a prison riot EVER. Am I right or am I right? Or am I right?

* ...I'm just going to assume that either Mai's uncle thought (correctly) Azula could take care of herself, or that he just didn't know she and Ty-Lee were up there. Because otherwise, he's in for a world of pain. Not as much as Mai and Ty-Lee, but still. Pain.

* ...I'm sure there's more I can say, but I really, really can't think of any. I'll add 'em if I do, I guess.

All in all, very cool, though I'm sort-of wishing I'd spaced them out a little more instead of watching them all in one sitting. It would've stretched the awesome out a little better, helped me with the long wait.

On a somewhat vaguely related note, the fourth Percy Jackson book came out today; stopped by the library to see if I could miraculously get a copy, but it turns out I couldn't. Nine copies, all checked out, and twenty-two holds placed for them when they come back. I guess this might take a while...

twenty-two holds placed for them when they come back

At least it's better than my library system. The waiting list there was 190. *so went and bought the book today*

About the 3some, I think it something about Katara and Sokka's family.

Okay, we have Aang, who we all know loves Katara. Zuko seems to have a thing for her. Then there was Jet. There might be others since I haven't seen all the episodes. But it is like Katara has her own male harem.

Now we come to Sokka. The ladies going for him are Suki and Yue. And it appears the Toph has something of a crush on him. He has his own harem, too!

Finally, we come to Gran-Gran. Her ex-fiance still has the hots for her but we know she married another man. I think its a family thing.

They are hot stuff. Makes me wonder what Kanna looked like when she was young.

Ho damn. That sucks. D: I'm planning on getting my copy tomorrow. :D

Also. Favorite lines from 3x14 (whited out):

I died. XD Also. Sokka and Zuko totally make the best team ever.

I remember the random firebending guy's name, but I haven't the slightest idea how to spell it. ^^;

I really liked the Boiling Rock episodes. How can she crawl up metal walls? Cuz she's Spider-woman!

My sister and I can't help but laugh how...er, how to put this..? The Avatar and the Firelord = Rozin, you know, very Harry Potter-ish. Firebending Masters = rainbow fire, and lots of it.

And the Sun Warrior guy: "But seriously, don't tell anyone." Hella random :D.

I've got to agree with you on 3x13, The Firebending Masters. Most awesome episode ever. Well, one of them. I still love Siege of the North Parts 1 and 2.

I'm actually adoring the new and improved Zuko, too. :)

I think it's because he has equal parts angst, redemption, kindness, kiss-ass badness, skill, dorkiness and a whole bunch of other things that I can't name right now. The combination is irresistable.
