I) I think I has a sick. Or at least a cold. Thing. Sinus infection of some sort, maybe. I mean, I was kinda sneezing and stuffed up all summer, but now it's graduated to stuffed up plus post-nasal drip plus horrible horrible dripping at terrible times and so forth. So I'm hoping this means it'll go away soon?
On the possibly negative side of things, this possibly means I won't be able to donate blood today. I dunno for sure, we'll see, but still. Want give blood DD:
II) It are GIANT FOOTBALL GAME DAY today. The U of I is up against its longtime rival, Iowa State, resulting in TEAM SPIRIT practically dripping off portions of the local populations (including city bus drivers, who would have HAWKS BEAT CYCLONES!!! signs in their bus windows o_O) and accumulating in lots of people near my apartment today, and a number of them singing the U of I fight song where it sounded like they were just outside my window. Traffic today promises to be horrible, but I am really more amused by us than anything.
III) To offset the Possible Sick, one of my library holds (Havemercy) is finally available to me today! \o/ After my blood appointment, I'll hopefully be able to go to the library to pick it up, and then GET READING. I mean, when I first went to place a hold on it something like two weeks ago, I was the only one who had a hold on it. And then, in the last week, two other people put holds on it, and the library is still processing the second copy they want to add to the collection, so I'm feeling all lucky and happy inside about it. And also slightly gloat-y, in a very tiny corner of my mind. HA HA, I GET TO READ HAVEMERCY BEFORE YOU >:D
My other hold, Victory of Eagles, is still a hold, but at least it's one of two! There are two copies of this book in the library's collection currently, with another two being processed as well. Jeez, processing takes forever, even with holds on stuff 9_9
IV) Grocery shopping tonight! I will be sure to get sandwich fixings and canned soup, as I have been without the latter for far too long.
V) SENDING GOOD THOUGHTS/FEELINGS/PRAYERS/ETC TO ALL IN TEXAS, GET THROUGH THIS OKAY GUYS, OKAY? OKAY.
Edit: Failed to donate blood (iron count only 37%, sadness ;_; Will try again on 10/11), but succeeded in depositing paycheck and purchasing cold remedy that will hopefully help with stupid sick-thing (though it would've been better to start yesterday apparently, and also I can't consume citrus within 30 min of taking a tablet, WTH; this better be the one that Tomas said Mr. Koepnick recommended, or else, I swear). Also picked up Havemercy, and am quite looking forward to reading. Thank you, random person who left a meter with 22 minutes on it for me~!
ALSO, there's a new Small Fandom Meme up, since the previous one maxed out both its posts! Yaaaay \o/
♥♥ Small Fandom Friending Meme NEXT ♥♥

Date: 2008-09-14 02:34 am (UTC)Football games always end in hilarity. Unless, of course, they end in raging mobs, but thaaaat's a different story.

Date: 2008-09-14 02:50 am (UTC)Other reason not to give blood while sick: my blood will probably have any pathogens I'm fighting in it, and considering blood transfusions will go to patients already weak themselves... Yeah. Just as well, all told, yes. I still want to donate, though! DD:
X3 No raging mobs here; apparently we won, yay? But yes, I was terribly amused for some reason.
