Time to post about that stuff what I got for my birthday :Db
Here's the stuff-stuff:

Yes, that is the largest mp3 player you've ever seen! How good of you to notice :3
Also present are three manga volumes I'd asked for (I'm betting they're saving the ones that'll bring me up to current in those series until Christmas), new driving gloves (of an expensive brand whose name escapes me, but are pretty warm actually), an eight gig memory stick (thank you, roommate!), and a portable easel that I picked out from Dick Blick to purchase with the 40% off coupon they gave me for the occasion ♥ I look forward to making it work for me.
While I was out and about yesterday, I also picked out a present or three for myself. ...And to share with Conan, 'cuz I'm nice like that. CFUD fans should recognize the reference here; guys, I'd like you to meet my new boyrats, Ari, Ash and Al!

This is Al. He is a huge scaredy-rat. I really don't know why at all. He's rather fond of huddling in the corner at the moment. I'm hoping to help him socialize better as time goes by.

This is Ash. Thus far, he's the most trusting of the three new boys - possibly because of the sunflower seeds I fed him to entice him to play. My first agouti-anything rat.

In the main part of the frame here is Ari. The quickest way for me to tell Al and Ari apart is by the color of their eyes: Ari's eyes are a very light red, possibly even pink, while Al's are much darker, either ruby or black. Ari is probably nearly blind, if not entirely. He's still more trusting/curious than Al :/
For the record, no, I don't know why Al appears to be sniffing Ari's butt here. I assume it's just bad timing on the photo's part.
As a point of interest, I first saw the three of them in the pet store on Wednesday, when I spent the day out to distract myself from losing Doyle. Ari and Al stood out plainly, as they spent nearly the entire time that I was there boxing o_O They were curled up in a tube thing when I picked them out yesterday, but I'm hoping they'll show signs of their earlier energy soon.
Ash, on the other hand, didn't really stand out to me on Wednesday, and only distinguished himself on Sunday by playing acrobat and perching on top of the store's built-in water bottle X3
Here's hoping these three get along well with each other, and with Conan ♥
