I generally hate that word with a passion (although I am guilty of saying "shounen retard" a lot when describing manga characters or myself) and ban my siblings from ever saying it. Although I won't go to strangers and berate them if they use it, I will usually tell my friends that using the word around me makes me uncomfortable.
