Cynicsm goes here

So AH has started a Kickstarter for a Homestuck adventure game. (Not linking, 'cuz the MSPA website does it for me, and it's not like he needs the help.)
The goal is $700,000.
It's already reached and surpassed the critical 30% funded point in under a day.
Meanwhile, indie gamer Deirdra Kiai's Dominique Pamplemousse in "It’s All Over Once the Fat Lady Sings!" only reached the 30% mark half-way through the funding period, and barely reached its much more modest funding goal of $9,500 on the last possible day. (I dropped a link over at
copperbadge's journal for a Radio Free Monday boost rather than linking here, which I probably should've done anyway.)
It's not that I'm not looking forward to the Homestuck game, goodness knows it's not that.
It's just that the huge disparity between the two projects' goals and the time it took/is taking them to reach said goals makes me want to weep for humanity a little.
