I know, right? Since when were they naming "winter storms"? I mean, I get blizzards (kinda), because they're naming hurricanes and typhoons and whatnot, but naming Winter Storms is just making me think that the Midwest isn't actually missing hurricanes as a weather/geological phenomenon*, ours are just frozen. That's pretty much the only thing we're hypothetically missing (tornadoes (+waterspouts?), decheros, fucking earthquakes for the love of Maude, everything ever ice and snow, etc), and I was counting the years until global climate change is fucked up enough that we can pull those in off of the great lakes.
Anyway, yes. Winter Storm Draco. Somewhere there is a better fangirl than I who will make the obligatory Harry Potter related jokes, but I'm too distracted by other things. It occurred to me all to late to think of the actual damage that may be done by the storm and the people affected and how maybe it would be in abysmal taste to make a joke out of that. My apologies for not thinking sooner.
