In other news, I am excited by the introduction of a new female character of color! And also pleased that they actually made her Japanese instead of trying to someone white a kitsune. Unfortunately, I'm also the kind of asshole who hasn't bothered to check if the actress herself (or her character's father's actor) are of Japanese descent and hasn't learned to be able to tell just by looking, but at least so far it's not (entirely?) reinforcing the dominant paradigm.
And then there's potentially another female character with Malia? IDK, I can't tell yet. I mean, Talia managed the full shift, but I can't remember if the full shift was implied to be a Hale line thing or just really rare. If it's a Hale line thing, does that mean it can be passed on via the bite (and thus can Scott hypothetically pull it off), or is it strictly genetic? And why does the wolf in question have blue eyes? Did they legit kill someone innocent, or is that something Peter was bullshitting hardcore about? Basically, is the wolf a missing Hale pack member who may or may not have killed Malia, or is it Malia herself? If it is Malia, who turned her?
Well played, show; I am intrigued.
I'm also wondering where Cora is, but I suppose that if nothing else, torturing her shirtless would have been less likely to air than torturing Peter and Derek shirtless.
I have more thoughts on the show that I totally need to write out sometime, but that will wait for later, I think. Those are all I can think of/remember specific to last week's episode, at least.
I'm not actually sure I'm going to catch this week's episode when it airs. On the one hand, it's less than an hour away and I've gotten a good amount of sleep to get up on time for work tomorrow if I do. On the other hand, I've been feeling a tad under the weather, and more sleep plus NyQuill knockoff might help stave off illness. I'll probably see about catching the episode on my next day off instead. Or possibly getting in another nap and catching a later airing tonight, if I'm awake on time.
