Spent the past few days deeply frustrated as I tried in vain to convert .aa files to .mp3 so I can listen to them on the way to work. (My car has a built in mp3 player that doesn't work with .aa, thanks a whole fucking lot, Amazon.) I finally broke down and bought a program that seems to work, except it doesn't work on my primary computer (and, if Troubleshooting FAQ is to be believed, won't work unless I install iTunes, which, no thank you, that thing is horribly bloated and annoying besides) and is going hella slow on my backup computer. I'm currently waiting for my first file to finish being converted, and if that doesn't actually work in such a way that I can take it with me, I'm tracking down Audacity and just doing a real-time recording and working up the gumption to demand my money back for the program. If I have to convert in real-time, I may as well do it for free.
In other news, this is the second of two days off, and I'm going back into work tomorrow for a loooooong weekend. I'll be on through Monday, and there's a shitload to do for Mother's Day, with a wedding on Saturday to boot. Plus, there's the Quire concert this weekend, which. I have no actual idea whether I'll be able to go sing in it. It would totally suck if I don't have the energy for it, since I had to miss last semester due to school. I may end up having to drop Quire altogether, which I really don't want. At least I'll have the money to take out an ad in the playbill, probably.
To keep from being a total downer, I'm having a lot of fun keeping up with the Tumblr account Bisexual Books and contributing to The Stiles Campaign. I've submitted two-and-a-half things to the latter, and have bought two new books because of the former, with more on the horizon for both. I had no idea how much I needed bi representation and acknowledgement until these came into my life. (If you want to take a look at what I've submitted to The Stiles Campaign, my tag is here. Anyone who submits something gets their own tag, regardless of how many things/times they submit. Also, my sincerest apologies for not sharing my activities over there before the ragdoll giveaway ended. I really should've alerted folks to that sooner. Or, like, at all.) Books I bought are Tides by Betsy Cornwell and Pantomime by Laura Lam. (The main character of Pantomime is also intersex!)
Anyway, back to work tomorrow, so sleep for me shortly, I would say.
