From now through January 6th, My Lady King by Kayla Bashe is available FOR FREE through Amazon. You can read Shira Glassman's rec for the book here; I'm currently looking for the Bisexual Books review, because I swear I've seen it. Edit: Nope! They just reblogged the author's book announcement. [/edit] I haven't read it myself yet, but I plan to in short order.

Speaking of book gifts, this gift certificate magically appeared in my inbox just now...would you believe I bought A Harvest of Ripe Figs this morning?

XD LOL! Well, I wasn't sure if any of my previous gift certificate recipients were in a better financial place or not, so I thought I'd cover my bases just in case. Feel free to regift it, spend it on the short stories when they come out, spend it on something else (I know Shira recommends Lunaside, though that's a dollar more), or send it back to me.

BTW, I take this to mean that you read and enjoyed the first two books? :3?

I have not, actually, but I did get a two percent raise apparently effective on the first of the year (which means showing up in my paycheck starting Friday), so I'm not quite as broke. And I fully expect to enjoy all three books and even if they're not to my taste I want to support diversity in literature, so I refuse to regret this, you know?

Congrats on the raise! I do hope you enjoy the books when you get to them, though I am with you on supporting diverse literature. I've done the same a few times, and it's also part of the reason I decided to give out gift cards for this series in the first place (though the other part is definitely because I like the books).
