A missed opportunity
Feb. 25th, 2018 09:03 pmSeveral months ago, at Tuesday Mornings:
Me: OMG that microbead glitter set is amazing
Me: Look at that transparent red with the iridescent sheen! I could use those in a potion to reference pomegranate seeds!
Me: ...That set is almost twenty dollars, and I have no potions that call for pomegranate seeds at the moment, nor do any of the other color options particularly call to me. I do not need to spend twenty dollars for one vial of microbeads that I think is really pretty but have no practical use for. My room is already too full of crafting supplies that I bought because they were pretty and swore I'd figure out a use for eventually.
Me: It really is pretty, tho :{
This morning, while listening to Beneath the Sugar Sky for a second time:
Me: ...OMG, I could totally make character-inspired potions for the Wayward Children series!
Me: Sumi would be riotous candy colors with rainbow glitter, Cade would be transmasculine colors with iridescent shapes of some sort, and Nancy would be white with a few black threads (maybe a single strand of unbrushed black yarn?) and red microbeads for pomegranate seeds! It's perfect!
Me: Wait, crap, I never bought that microbead set at Tuesday Mornings, and I haven't seen it again the past few times I've gone. I probably missed my chance.
Me: Well, I did get a bunch of other microbeads at Michael's a while back. Maybe I'll have something that'll work?
This evening, looking at my vast Stash:
Me: So. This set has three rows that are entirely dedicated to blue and green.
Me: Three of the blues are almost identical translucent light blue that, while very pretty, I have no particular use for just now.
Me: And it has one red, and it's not even the right red!
Me: Ugh. I hate not-buyer's remorse.
