Guess who pre-ordered Taako's Correspondence School of Wizardy, Cantrips, and Other Magicks from the Mysterious Package Company? This femby!
Some spoilers ahead:
I had some maaaaajor trouble with the first puzzle. Not in the way you'd think, though! The "translation" was a simple substitution code, and I'm pretty good at that; given a few hours, I can read substitution coded stuff without looking at a cheat sheet. I managed to translate both of the provided materials pretty quickly, and even managed to guess the Rosetta Stone word with only the first line of the Elvish stuff translated. (The first line had five of the seven letters of the RS word, and I could only think of two words that might solve for the missing letters. My first guess was right, though I maintain that my second guess was a better weird word.)
The problem? I misunderstood what the directions meant by "Elvish spell of Gnoll shaman".
I spent more time than I cared to think about "translating" the names of spells I thought it was, checked the downloadable hint guide, and even went through every spell in my D&D 5e Handbook to see if I could find the one it was! Finally, after a good amount of frustration, I gave up and went to Google.
Turns out I was misinterpreting the source material, and was supposed to use the Elvish spelling of Gnoll shaman.
Thanks, language. /sarcasm
Second puzzle is mazes; I'm planning to make copies and/or scans, so I don't have to draw directly on the paper and can thus save it for possibly my brother to try as well. We'll see!
