Miraculous Ladybug Season 2 Finale

Three guesses what I just watched! 8D Still subtitles only so far, as far as English language versions go, but my otaku history has prepared me well for that.
Anyway, I have a lot of spoiler-tastic thoughts, now:
* I am now 100,000% on board the Nino/Alya ship. I was lukewarm before, but I am sold now and need no more convincing (though the show is welcome to do so if it pleases).
* Okay but Nino's fistbump sequence with Wayzz was super adorable, and there is nothing and no one on this green earth or beyond capable of convincing me otherwise.
* Moving on to more serious subjects, it is now canon confirmed that people can be reakumatized as the same akuma/supervillain they were before.
* On a related subject, the finale also solidified my headcanon that Miraculous magic treats civilians and transformed miraculous users as separate identities/people. This is why Akumatized Chloe, Alya, and Nino were Antibug, Lady Wifi, and the Bubbler respectively, while their Miraculous counterparts did not share their civilian akumatizations. This also suggests that the reason Hawkmoth detransformed before akumatizing himself is because, had he remained transformed, he would have been Akumatized Hawkmoth, and his plan in Collector needed Akumatized Adrien's Dad.
* Oh man. Oh man oh man oh man. That peacock miraculous thing though! We finally have a more solid clue about what may have happened to Adrien's mom, Emilie! I am stoked for fan speculation on this :DDD
* You know what else I'm stoked for? A nice, long hiatus to let this new canon info percolate and give me more time to write fic without worrying quite so much about getting contradicted :P I'm still thinking about how or if I want to incorporate the info into any existing plunnies (Catification and possibly Complex Polycules; the ship may have sailed on the Adrien Reveal sequel to All the Names I Know You By).
* Speaking of incorporating new canon into existing plunnies, I'm not sure what to do about that ending kiss? Mutual pining and the love square are generally more fun to work with for me (and, dare I say, for most of us). I feel like there's some room for interpretation yet, and also a lot of directions this could go, but that was a pretty solid move on Marinette's part there. (I'm on team Reveal First, for the record.Well, Reveal First and/or Polyamory.)
* Okay, more serious matter: I was slightly disappointed that we didn't see a real conclusion to Marinette's, uh, screw-up? Bluff? Outright lie? Especially with how hard she went on lies with Lila, and the show's general tendency to hammer those Aesops home. (Side effect of being a kids' show. It has its ups and downs.) I mean, on behalf of my embarrassment squick, I was definitely relieved, but on behalf of writing and characterization I was kinda disappointed? TBH, if Marinette had gone back to class after the entire Villain Day disaster with only what she'd been able to complete and fessed up, I feel like that would've been a reasonable way to take care of things without too much embarrassment: She could own up to her overly-ambitious promise, with evidence that she still tried to fulfill it, which would have been plenty good enough for me. My best guess is that they ran out of time to include anything like that, which is a shame.
* This is more of an overall season thing, but I do wish the writers had gone a little bit stronger with Chloe's redemption. Habits held for years are difficult to break, it's true, but it would be nice to see Chloe putting a bit more effort into it in canon. It's more than a little disappointing, IMO.
* Belatedly, wow, that is one helluva con that Lila is pulling on, uh. Just about everyone? Marinette seems to be the only one fact-checking, which is, uh. I mean, after the previous mess, you'd think other folks (especially Alya) would be a little more skeptical of Lila, but maybe it didn't get as much attention as I seemed to think? IDK. (I would also like Lila to stop being horrible, FTR.)
All that said, at the end of the day, the positives definitely outweighed the negatives for me, and I am definitely looking forward to a productive fandom season :Db
Note to self: Make a Miraculous Ladybug icon already, gosh darnit!
