Dreams are weird

I woke up (or "woke up") briefly this morning around eight-thirty to what I thought was a conversation between my two roommates. (It later turned out that I was probably still dreaming, or at least imagining the entire conversation, hence the parenthetical quotes.) As I left my dreams, a phrase drifted to the forefront of my mind:

"Exactly three bananas and a sock."

Aside from being nonsensical by itself, it doesn't even make sense in context. There was nothing in my dream(s) or the imaginary conversation that had anything in particular to do with bananas or socks. Just - what? I don't even. What?

Why three bananas? Why exactly three bananas? If we're being exact about the bananas, why don't we number the socks as well? Why is it "a" sock and not "one" sock? And why the hell would I need or want that particular combination of items?

I would like some answers, but my brain is not providing :/ Any thoughts, internets?

Maybe you can only fit three bananas comfortably into a sock? Two would leave the sock too loose, four would cause banana squishing?

Now as to why you're putting bananas in a sock...

Obviously, their answer would be "To test the myth, 'you can't fit more than three bananas comfortably in a sock'."

True, that X3 I go without dreaming long enough, I start to think something's up.

Me neither :/ Possibly the fact idea I'm even trying to find meaning in it is fundamentally flawed, but that won't stop me from trying!

Hee! I do the same thing - meaning from dreams is almost as fun as the dreams themselves, and I've learned a fair bit from analysis of mine. Far be it from me to say that it's fundamentally flawed; if it's useful, it's useful.

...None on this, but I recall vividly a dream I had at 14, in which there was a news broadcast announcing "fifty-five rabid gerbils have escaped from the zoo". And a few nights ago, I dreamt that I wanted to take a sculpture class, the fee for which was exactly £3,923. I GOT NOTHIN'

Huh. Makes me want to collect dream numbers. For what, I have no idea; I'm sure inspiration would come to me after I got enough, though (however much "enough" is).

I had a dream, when we were on a road trip, and I said, "Bad manners are not proper." I remember saying this in my dream. Apparently, my mom was passing by my bed and I actually blurted that one sentance aloud and only that one.
