Me about a month ago: Oh, hey, the AnimeTwineowa website has way more hits than I was expecting it to just now. By like one or two hundred. Neat. Wonder why that is...?

I mean, I didn't write down when the hit count passed 1500 (though I definitely did a little dance in my seat), so I can't check dates, but uh. It's over 1800 now? And at least a few people may have looked at AnimeTwineowa with the hypothetical possibility of fanfiction in mind...

(Also, the last time I looked it was a good hundred less than the current number. And I think it only broke 1200 during AI weekend? Anyway, somehow, some way, my/our little game is apparently gaining some tiny bit of popularity!)

I didn't nominate any of it and I haven't looked to see if anyone else did, and—considering I only managed to do anything more writing-like than daydream about it for three days in November—this was not a bad decision, but I did ask if I'd want to nominate individual stories within AnimeTwineowa or the game as a whole (answer: individual, unless I wanted to nominate the frame story of the convention itself), so

Oh yeah, I remember you reporting to me on that. Maybe someone on the Yuletide Discord liked the idea enough to nominated it themselves. Or maybe it's just somehow gaining popularity some other way! I guess I'll have to wait and see. (And maybe Duck Around a bit, as well...)

Oh right, the post about the game is still on the front page of AI's official website; there's been some activity there, with vendor sign-ups and, most recently, registration for 2022 opening up, so that might be what's going on. Still pretty cool, though!

Ooh. Related at least tangentially, you know Clockwork Under City Lights? I've got a story percolating presently, it's a steampunk thingie, and one of the characters is I'm pretty sure someone who makes the actual constructs as a hobby. Not as a fandom thing, since the anime doesn't exist in that universe (there's a century's difference and more between their when and ours, for one), but a genuine interest. A stained glass and gearwork, flight-capable griffin the size of a teacup, for instance. XD Can I get away with that, since the anime concept is now wound into Anime Twineowa?

Wait really? :D Those sorts of figures are absolutely a long-term hobby project for a character of mine, and with the steampunk technology of that universe, they're actually animate. Not self-aware at all, however, which is another difference from the fictional anime. The call is soc_puppet's, though.

Go for it! As far as I'm concerned, even the anime concept is still 100% yours and you still hold the copyright; you just let me borrow it for a while. It's still listed as by you in the credits. I'd have to triple check, but I'm even pretty sure yours is the only name listed for it under the credits. I only did joint credits with myself for any ideas I had to do a lot of fleshing out for, and I didn't need to come up with a lot storytelling-wise for Clockwork Under City Lights.
