Between work and accidentally viral Tumblr posts, I've been pretty wiped out the past few days 😅 I still want to update today, though!
Let's see, what can I talk about...
Oh! A big event that was originally scheduled for this weekend was moved to, like, April/May. I'm pretty jazzed about this, because Saturday is a big Pokémon Go event, and I otherwise probably would've been working through it. (I'll finally be able to catch Corsola!)
My IUD follow-up appointment is on Friday morning, as well. I suspect the IUD will be coming back out, as I've been basically bleeding continually since it was put in 😩 It's also still kinda sore/uncomfortable in that region, and I sincerely hope that's not related to the fall I took a week or so after it was put in. Anyway, I may ask to go on my previous pill instead of something new, since I was actually doing pretty well on it, and only had any major complaints about that one extra long period where I'm pretty sure I missed a pill anyway. Taking a pill at roughly the same time every single day was a pain, but it's less of a pain than bleeding every single day, and getting my whole uterus removed in Plague Times also seems like not a great idea. Maybe in 2025 or so things will have gotten better enough for me to reconsider that.

Date: 2022-02-24 11:54 pm (UTC)As long as I can drive or be driven somewhere at some point during Saturday, I should be able to do all the catching I want, at least. I don't think that's too much of a stretch...

Date: 2022-02-24 03:17 am (UTC)When I got onto the pill I started about six months-ish ago, I missed two pills and then bled for 21 days. Haven't even had so much as spotting since, despite having forgotten pills several times, sometimes for as much as three-four days (because remembering every day is a pain). (I take it continuously, as trying to avoid my periods is the main reason I take it. I probably need to do an off week sometime soon, but I don't want to, lol.)
That's maybe a bit TMI, but... I hope that if you do go back on the previous pill, your experience is similar, and the extended period thing isn't a repeat event.

Date: 2022-02-25 12:01 am (UTC)That... would be really nice. Really, really nice. The resident who put the implant in last time suggested a different pill as the next option, and I'd probably be up for that as well, but still. And honestly, it's not even the "taking a pill every day" part that I dislike; I've been on anti-anxiety meds for well over a decade at this point, plus vitamins, I'm used to taking pills every day. It's the "at as close to the same time as you can manage every day" part that gets me. I had an alarm set on my phone for it on my last regimen, and I'm prepared to do it again, but I'll probably ask about taking the pills with my other meds instead, even if my timing there does tend to vary by a good two or three hours.

Date: 2022-02-25 03:32 am (UTC)While I will obviously say consult a doctor or other medical professional - I've been told in the past (and just reconfirmed to myself on planned parenthood's site) that the "same time every day" is very dependent on which type of pill you take, and has some wiggle room.
If you take a combined estrogen/progestin pill (which is what I take), it genuinely does not matter much when you take it, as long as you take it each day. The "same time" thing is more about building the habit.
If it's a progestin-only pill, the "same time" thing matters more, but according to the planned parenthood site, you have a window of about 3 hours either way where it remains effective (but use backup methods if it varies by more than that.)
So... even if you're on the type where it's more important to stay consistent with timing, you DO have some room to take it with your other daily meds, if the timing doesn't vary by more than a few hours.
