Welp, I finally caught up on Miraculous Ladybug! That was very stressful! Time to find a comfort read to reset my brain so I can get some sleep! 8D

It really was! See my flailing about what Rena did in the finale, not to mention Gabriel (did Nathalie know he was going to pull that maneuver? I'm so very working on something answering that question, you bet I am). AHHHH!

Yeah, that was definitely heartwrenching, especially after all the time she and Trixx must have spent together this season. ...I should go looking for fics about their antics, that might be fun.

Also, I am similarly not 100% sold on senti-Adrien theory! There is a lot of compelling evidence, but nothing definite, and at this point I really would prefer it not to be true. Unless the writers can make a compelling enough argument on behalf of sentis effectively being living beings in the show, which I have little faith in. Plus the thing where Adrien is autistic-coded, and while the same case can be made for several other characters in the show, I still don't know how comfortable I am with an autistic-coded character also possibly being a construct in a kids' show.

Bleh, stressful 😩 I think it might be time to see if I can find any Alya-and-Trixx-hanging-out fics...

I'm also hoping sentis are not all effectively living/sentient beings - I'm not sure that case can be made without a lot of disturbing implications, but also don't entirely trust the showrunners not to try and make it anyway. Constructs with varying levels of awareness, yes, dependent on what their creator and controller expect or wish them to have. Some of this is absolutely me headcanoning, I admit, but some is Mayura's description of a potential sentimonster as a powerful protection, when first speaking to Hawkmoth. That line has lingered with me since I first heard it, and has totally influenced my ideas about sentimonsters/sentinels. Spoilers for as-yet unposted Émilie|Paon Bleu fic go here, ahem!

I sincerely hope senti-Adrien is not where the show ends up going. Your reasons give me even more dismay at the idea! :( I'm also not sold on the whole 'creation of senti-Adrien and/or senti-Félix=damage to the peafowl Miraculous' connection. If that were true, Nathalie couldn't have survived creating Senti-Ladybug without doing further damage to the Miraculous, could she?

If you find any Alya and Trixx fic worth linking, please do? I can imagine them becoming closer even before this season, with Rena Rouge and Carapace being routinely active well before Rena got her Miraculous full-time. ... Oh, Rena, jeez. :(

Oof, I hadn't even considered the part where Our Heroes have been actively destroying them since Mayura came onto the scene. I would say that she almost certainly doesn't put nearly as much effort or meaning as she could into most of her sentimonsters ("Ladybug" being one of the exceptions), but uh. Considering that Astruc has tweeted something to the effect that senti-beings are capable of aging and having kids... I mean, it's still "word of god" only so far, but. Er. Yeah.

I mean, something is clearly going on? With the rings and stuff? And I don't know if Miraculous Ladybug is a sophisticated enough show to pull off a red herring to that level. But I don't know if senti-Adrien is the way it should go, especially with people already suggesting that Gabriel's treatment of Adrien is no big deal if the theory is correct, because Adrien is a construct/not human and therefore it "doesn't count". Which I think we can both agree is bullshit to the Nth degree, and I would be very happy if I never had to see that take again, but I'm pretty sure I've only been lucky so far since my fandom interaction is pretty limited as is.


I've gotten as far as sorting relationships to "Alya Cesaire & Trixx" with my filters on AO3, and have found a few with promising summaries, but I may end up flat-out asking for prompts at this rate.
