I have to credit my mom for pillowcase snaps; my dad has a fondness for satin pillowcases (which might be unusual, since both he and my mom are white, though I'm given to understand that satin pillowcases are recommended for curly and afro-texture hair especially), and I remember my mom making him a set for a birthday in my childhood. Satin turned out to be super slippery as a pillowcase material, to the point where even non-restless sleepers have trouble with it, so Mom added snaps to his pillowcases! I'm a teensy bit embarrassed at how long it took me to remember she'd done that, actually 😅 I only got snaps on my pillowcases in the past year or two, and it's been probably twenty-ish since she originally made Dad those pillowcases...
