A delightful turn of phrase entered my mind as I was getting ready for work this morning:

Fandom Police are not exempt from ACAB.

I immediately extended it to the Purity Police and Identity Police, and am perhaps a bit too proud of myself.


In other news, the theme contest for next year's AnimeIowa has opened! Turns out attendees will be the ones to vote on next year's theme, which is. Interesting. I sincerely hope it doesn't kill my chances, but I'm prepared to keep submitting themes every year until I get one that will support Bikers Against Child Abuse as our annual charity.

Sooooo, the WisCon schedule. This is entirely a screenreader issue, fair warning. Trying to read the schedule in the format it's in now is... um. Interesting. I can access panel names fairly well, and expanding them to get overviews/the list of panelists and mods is okay. Unfortunately, trying to track what's at which time is less accessible, and in between each link's clickable text, I get a repeated list of all the panel names in that timeslot, over and over and over until I reach the next clickable item. I'm assuming the locations of panels are marked visually somehow, because they don't read at all to Jaws. :( I've tried looking at the schedule grid in two different browsers, no dice. Same issue.

Shoot, that's a big problem! I'll pass the word along to the web team; worse comes to worst, I'll re-create the schedule in a post over here or something. (I may try that anyway, if the web team thinks it'll take a while.)

Okay, the web person added a toggle to the top of the schedule that will switch it to List View (no clickable links, everything in a nice, text-only list). From my view, it's literally the first two clickable things at the top right corner of the page, even before any of the panels; grid view is the first (leftmost) option, list view is the second. Let me know if that works for you! Worst case scenario, the text-only list did allow me to copy the entire thing into a text document, and I can probably either email that to you/post a public download link or just copy-paste it into a Dreamwidth post. I probably won't bother to recreate font changes in a Dreamwidth post, but those aren't exactly the important part here anyway 😛
